Iya Villania got the surprise of her life when she learned her third child was a baby girl.
The moment when she first laid eyes on her daughter was captured on video, which Iya shared on her family's YouTube channel.
"Oh my God! It's a girl! I thought it was a boy!" the celebrity mom exclaimed as her OB-GYN held up her newborn baby.
Iya continued to think out loud: "Oh my gosh, I thought it was a boy. Oh my gosh, wala akong pang gamit na girl!
"I can't believe I have a girl!"
The now mother of three celebrated the life of her daughter Alana Lauren by reliving the day of her birth.
From waking up early in the morning on July 18, 2020 to arriving home from the hospital the next day, Iya recorded some highlights for the vlog.
One special highlight was when Iya held Alana for the first time.
"Hi my little bubba," the GMA-7 star greeted over and over again.
Then she realized, "Oh no, Primo is not going to be happy... He wanted a boy."
Primo is the eldest child of Iya and husband Drew Arellano.
Their second child's name is Leon.
Holding Alana closer to her, Iya said, "Oh my goodness, I have a girl. I'm afraid."
She then quietly said a prayer: "Thank you Lord for my healthy baby."
ALANA MEETS HER FAMILY
When Iya and Alana were cleared to go to their room, Drew was there waiting for them.
Drew, who had a feeling it was going to be a girl, could be heard laughing when he saw Iya and Alana arrive from the delivery suite.
The Kapuso host knew Iya was scared about having a daughter.
"I knew it. I knew it," he said.
Iya said in return, "Can you believe it, love?"
As for Alana's brothers Primo and Leon, the two boys got to virtually meet their sister for the first time through a video call.
Iya continued to be worried about Primo's reaction, especially after the video call.
"Na-excite iyon noong una kasi everyone else at home was excited. And then when he realized na, 'Wait, girl pala? But I want a baby bro!"
But all worries seemed to fade when Iya, Drew, and Alana arrived home the next day.
Primo and Leon were visibly excited to see their sister.
In fact, Primo quickly adapted to his role as kuya to Alana.
When he saw his sister crying, he fetched her a cup of milk to drink.
Alana was born on July 18.
