Now that their conversations are about boys and romance, Angelu makes an effort to understand her daughters' concerns and address them as appropriately as possible.
"At first, talagang pinagdasalan ko iyon na sana matututo ako makipag-usap sa kanila na kasing-wavelength nila," the celebrity mom told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) during a virtual PEP Live interview last June 9, 2020.
"Hindi masyadong nanay, ganyan. You know, parang, nagkakapagbiruan kami when it comes to boys, to manliligaw.
"Totally different from my time."
The GMA-7 actress allows her daughters to take the lead in their conversations, and gets to know them better this way.
"Madami rin silang natuturo sa akin," Angelu continued.
"I ask them for simplest things. Minsan, tinatanong ko sa kanila kung tama ba iyong pag-phrase ko ng sentence. Minsan nagpapaturo ako sa kanila.
"Para sa akin, I can also learn from them more than they can learn from me. Kasi alam naman nila iyong mga pinagdaanan ko sa buhay.
"I can only teach them what I know.
"Ako naman ngayon iyong natututo from them because I see them, I see who they are as girls."
Getting to know her daughters again
Angelu is thankful that the quarantine has given her a lot of time to spend with her family.
As an actress, the Kapuso star was used to seeing her kids "thrice a week."
Now, Angelu sees them every day.
She told PEP.ph, "Reset talaga. Getting your family together and getting to know everyone ulit...
"We all have our moments. Minsan meron kaming bonding na kaming tatlo [nina Nicole and Louise] lang nasa kusina, and then doon mo nakikita that they're two beautiful, young ladies, you know.
"Makikita mo talaga iyong magkaiba personality nila, and you have to treat each other differently in a sense na siyempre, kasi, unique nga sila.
"Ang bonding namin ni Nicole is different from bonding namin ni Louise.
"Kami ni Nicole, mag-e-exercise together, walking sa village, iyong ganyan.
"Kami naman ni Louise, puwedeng kami nakaupo lang kami together, magkukuwento lang siya. Magkakaiba."
Angelu and her husband Wowie Rivera have a son named Rafa, who turned eight years old early this year.
Nicole is Angelu's daughter with 90's action star Joko Diaz, while Louise is Angelu's daughter with businessman Jojo Manlongat.
