Rochelle Pangilinan recently found herself asking fans for prayers when her one-year-old daughter Shiloh got into an accident.

It happened three months ago.

Shiloh, who was sitting in her high chair, suddenly grabbed the still-hot bowl of porridge on the table.

This led to second-degree burns and five-day hospitalization.

She reveals, “Ako kasi, humingi talaga ko ng tulong, which is prayer. Noong June kasi, na-hospital ang anak ko.

"Naaksidente. Na-second degree burn iyong kamay niya.

“Humingi talaga ako ng prayer sa lahat. Hindi ko alam kung saan ako kakapit. Kahit kamay lang iyon, siyempre, maliit pa.

"And as a new parents, hindi namin alam ni Art kung ano ang gagawin."

Art is the nickname of her husband Arthur Solinap.

It did not help that they had to go to the hospital in the midst of a pandemic.

Rochelle is thankful that things went well.

"Nakaahon kami, napagdaanan naming lahat iyon during quarantine and during may pandemic, binibigay talaga ni God.

Rochelle is hopeful that we will see the end of the pandemic soon.

"And itong pandemic na ito, ginagawa niya tayo as one.

“Parang show lang iyan, doon ako nananalig.

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) spoke to Rochelle with Glydel Mercado, Harlene Budol, and Vaness del Moral at the online pocket presscon for the Women's September episode of Wish Ko Lang. The interview was conducted via the video conferencing app Zoom.

ONLINE WORKOUT SESSIONS

As the entertainment industry is deeply affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Rochelle found herself without regular work for almost six months.

She is very thankful that little by little, she and fellow artists are able to work again.

She relates, “Una, na-feel ko talaga noong nag-lock down na, 'Oh my god, hindi nila kami kailangan ngayon. Hindi nila kailangan ng entertainment.' E, ito iyong bread and butter namin.

“But now, sobrang happy ako na unti-unti, bumabalik tayo muli. Nasa tamang paraan lahat.

“Kaya rin naman ako sobrang thankful dahil naramdaman ko before and then, ngayon, sobrang ang layo.”

Since the quarantine is still in place, Rochelle has ventured into holding online classes to teach body workouts.

The online classes gave Rochelle an opportunity to help others who had also lost their jobs during the pandemic.

Rochelle believes that keeping fit is a good way to stay safe from the virus.

“So, bakit hindi?
