Janella Salvador has more stories to share about her life as a new mother.

In an interview hosted by Maja Salvador and uploaded on Star Magic's YouTube channel on January 7, 2021, the 22-year-old actress recalled the moments leading to her delivery.

Did you know she was in labor for "almost three days"?

The young celebrity mom said, "Iyong mismong pregnancy ko, it was a smooth-sailing pregnancy. For nine months, hindi ako masyado nahirapan.

"As in normal symptoms lang. Iyong mabigat, hirap, ganyan. No complications.

"Pero towards my last few weeks, sabi nung midwife and yung doctors, ayaw umikot. Hindi siya breech. As in nasa baba na head niya, pero naka-face siya sa labas. Dapat naka-face siya sa likod.

"Ayaw niya mag-face sa likod. As in kahit nung nagle-labor na ako, tsimoso siya, gusto niya naka-face siya sa front."

She had to endure back pain because of the position of the baby's head.

Janella continued, "Ang downside noon, back pain. Sobrang lala back pain kasi iyong skull niya nasa likod ko.

"I was in labor for almost three days.

"Hindi ako natulog. Hindi ako natulog talaga kasi grabe yung pain talaga."

Janella then revealed that she and boyfriend Markus Paterson went to the hospital "three times," but she could only be admitted once her cervix is "3-cm dilated."

"Unfortunately, kahit sobrang sakit na iyong pain, 1 cm pa lang ako.

"Pabalik-balik ako until naawa na sila sa akin sa third time ko. Sabi nila, 'Since it's your third time here, maybe we can induce you…' Doon na."

Janella and Markus welcomed Jude on October 20, 2020.

Janella Salvador: rush of joy

At the sight of her son, she was overjoyed.

"It's funny kasi right after giving birth to him, as in the first few moments, sa sobrang saya ko I wanted to stand up.

"Kinuha siya sa akin siyempre. Nilinis-linis siya, ganyan. 'Tapos sabi nila, 'Do you want to take a warm bath?' Gusto ko tumayo sa sobrang excited ko. Gusto ko siya makita ganyan, gusto ko siya mahawakan."

But just as she was about to stand, the exhaustion suddenly hit her.

"I realized, 'Teka, hindi ko pala kaya.' Sa sobrang excited ko, sa sobrang I was on cloud nine, hindi ko na-realize na pagod na pagod pala ako.

"Ganoon pala iyon. Kahit pagod na pagod ka, when you think about your child or kapag nakikita mo face niya, talagang nagna-numb iyong pain."

Did the first-time parents get teary-eyed?

For Janella, tears came not after giving birth but during a quiet moment with Jude.

"Hindi kami umiyak agad. Ako, umiyak ako when I first saw him smile. Mga quiet moments namin sa kwarto, 'tapos natutulog siya, 'tapos nag-smile siya.

"Parang naiiyak ako kasi parang, 'Aww, he's mine.'"
