The last week of August had been emotional for famous parents whose kids are studying abroad.
Frankie is a third-year college student taking up Literature and Anthropology at The New School, a private research university in New York City.
Part of Sharon's long message read: "...My Kakie, my Baba, is flying back to New York right about now…& if my heart had already been breaking for days over her leaving and other matters, today it is in pieces…Whenever a child of yours - especially one so loving & with such a pure and good heart leaves, she takes a big piece of your heart with her…"
Kakie will be back in December to spend Christmas with the family.
If the quarantine protocols are still strict by then, she will celebrate her 21st birthday—December 16—in a hotel room.
The Megastar continued, "If things don’t get better around here, when Kakie comes home for her short Christmas break, she will have to spend ten days in quarantine, and therefore most likely spend her birthday alone in her hotel room, knowing her family is so near yet so very far."
A photo taken at the birthday dinner of the family patriarch Kiko Pangilinan accompanied Sharon's post.
She wrote, "...Mama couldn’t really eat…and pretty soon, we were all shedding tears…I love you so very much, my Baba…Take care of yourself…And that large chunk of Mama’s heart which you took with you tonight. God bless you and keep you safe, my good girl…."
Kakie's progressive school in the Big Apple lists the following as its notable alumni: American playwright Tennessee Williams, former First Lady of United States Eleanor Roosevelt, fashion designer Donna Karan, and Hollywood actors Marlon Brando, Bradley Cooper, Jesse Eisenberg, and Jonah Hill, to name a few.
Ruffa, for her part, is currently in Malibu, California, to help Lorin settle in.
Her 18-year-old daughter is an incoming freshman at the Pepperdine University, which has an acceptance rate of 32%, according to USnews.com. This means that for every 100 student applicants, only 32 get accepted.
Part of Ruffa's message to Lorin said, "You’ve made us so proud as we’ve watched you grow up to be the beautiful, smart, hardworking young lady you are now.
Continue to persevere and live a life of purpose, service, and leadership. Focus on your studies. We love you so much and we will be missing you every single day."
Lorin, a future lawyer, replied to her mom in the comments section, "I love youuu..."
Ruffa also mentioned buying an "oven toaster" for Lorin, and reminded her to "be good."
On August 25, she said on Instagram, "And just like that… The summer went by so fast..Back to Spain today for your sophomore year in college. What a wonderful summer it was having you at home with us. We will be missing you, like we always do my son...
"Be inspired & inspire. Spread your wings and continue to fly.. Continue to praise, glorify & put God in the center of all that you do… love you very much, Andres..."
Aga Muhlach also posted a sweet message: "My son, my partner, my gym partner,my buddy! Summer well spent with you! Hope you had a blast as well. Enjoy your 2nd year in college. I’ll miss you and you know that. See you soon! Continue to be nice and kind. God loves you. We love you!!! Cheers, buddy!"
Andres' twin sister Atasha is enrolled in a U.K. university.
According to Charlene's previous post on Instagram, she is supposed to be "on campus" this academic year.
Quincy Jones, John Mayer, Diana Krall, and Charlie Puth all went to Erika's school, which, according to its website, is the "largest independent college of contemporary music in the world."
Ina wrote in her Instagram post, "It’s bittersweet to see my firstborn leave for college.
Well, goodbye for now @erikarae.p.
We will miss you and your craziness. We love you, ate and we wish you all the best..."
