Many parents are opting to homeschool their children to keep them safe from the coronavirus, Jennica Garcia among them.
Jennica admitted it hasn't been easy.
She was actually apprehensive about homeschooling at first, but her mind changed on seeing the progress of her six-year-old daughter Athena Mori.
In an Instagram post on Monday, November 8, 2021, the Las Hermanas actress shared a photo of Mori during one of her classes and wrote, "Enrolling Mori in the Beginning Readers Program is a decision that I do not regret.
"I'd have to admit that at first, I was apprehensive about her attending a class online.
"I was afraid that she will only get anxious and frustrated with her progress and find it difficult to understand her Teacher in an online setting but I was wrong."
Jennica especially thanked Mori's tutor, Teacher Taj, for her guidance.
The Kapuso actress continued, "Teacher Taj is a GEM. We have a Viber Group and every time I ask her assistance with something that Mori is struggling with, she'd equip me with tools I can download for free.
"This includes links and she even takes videos to show me how I can be of help in Mori's progress towards spelling, reading and writing. Ang empowering mga Inay."
Jennica said one of the greatest advantages of homeschooling is that it helped her strengthen her bond with her panganay.
The 31-year-old celebrity mom wrote, "While regular schooling has its perks (I get to have alone time which is a must for my mental health), Homeschooling with Cascades brings me great joy as well. [emoji]
"Mori and I's bond became stronger, I get to know her strengths and weaknesses firsthand so I know which area we need to focus on more and so on."
Towards the end of her post, Jennica thanked Teacher Taj again and said, "Teacher Taj, I honor you!
"Thank you for being intentional and patient with Mori and the rest of her classmates. We'll see you next Monday!"
Jennica's other daughter is three-year-old Alexis Severina.
Both Mori and Severina are Jennica's children with actor Alwyn Uytingco.
