Years before the age of the Internet, parents were worried about the content their children would see on television.
Today, social media have raised a new challenge: what is the best age to expose your little one to gadgets?
Bianca Gonzalez knows the use of mobile phones and tablets is inevitable, but she and husband JC Intal have not really talked about when their baby girl would be allowed to have a unit.
At a recently-held Globe event on Bonifacio High Street, she told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), “Oh my, social media, I don’t know.
“My friends with kids that are teenagers, parang some of them allow them—some 12, some 15, so iba-iba, e.”
But for Lucia’s case?
Bianca admitted that only time would tell if it’s the right time, “Me, as much as possible, talagang matagal pa. But you cannot stop them.
"In school, they’ll see it, e.
“And by the time my baby grows up, iba na naman yung milieu by that time, so I really don’t know.”
Social media has yet to be one of Bianca’s biggest concerns.
“It will definitely be a dilemma kapag lumaki na siya. Yung parang, ‘What age should we allow Facebook?,’ ‘What age should we allow these other social media accounts?’ Definitely!
“Pero dahil wala pa kami do’n, we’re taking it easy muna.”
So far, they let Lucia watch baby videos on YouTube.
