Ruffa Gutierrez became emotional during the photo shoot of her eldest daughter Lorin.
Lorin did the photo shoot for KJM Cosmetics, her first solo beauty endorsement.
In her interview with the press as the photo shoot wrapped up last Monday, March 26, the former beauty queen said, “We’re very excited for what’s to come. This is just the beginning.
“Iba talaga when you raise two children.
"It’s not always easy, especially now that they’re teenagers.
“I feel very emotional kasi, siyempre, Lorin is 14 and my other daughter is 13.
"And, sometimes, as a single working mom, you have those challenging moments, 'Kaya mo ba?’
"You know, I’m just very grateful that we have a strong family.”
With Lorin debuting as a model, is this also Ruffa’s debut as a talent manager?
The 43-year-old single celebrity mom quickly replied, “Ay, hindi pa naman!
"Nako, baka matakot ako kay Mommy.”
Although her mother Annabelle Rama has slowed down as talent manager, will Ruffa's mom have a hand in Lorin's future career?
Ruffa clarified, “We haven’t gone that far na magkaroon ng manager… Wala pa naman.”
NOT A STAGE MOM. Lorin herself said her mom is "scared to be a stage mom."
The 14-year-old teen added, “But it’s okay also, at least I learn how to be independent.”
According to Ruffa, “Si Lorin naman is very smart, hindi ko naman kailangan bantayan.
"Baka ma-conscious if I’m there, siya nga nagte-text sa akin, e.
"‘Mama, where are you? I’m here na.’
“I want to give her her own space, kasi sanay na rin siya mag-pictorial, e.
"She’s done It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez, her first commercial was actually Nido when she was three.
"We were still living in Istanbul, so sanay na siya.”
STUDIES FIRST. Although Lorin has made her first step into showbiz, Ruffa said her daughter still prioritizes her studii=es.
The mother of two remarked, “Napaka-importante no’n na makapagtapos siya ng pag-aaral, especially because her school is not very cheap.
“It’s very expensive, and I want her to make the most of every thing she is learning while she’s in high school.”
But the mother of two has not completely ruled out showbiz. “Sabi ko, after high school.
"I want her to finish college also, puwede naman siya mag-showbiz in between, e.
"Kasi yung opportunities naman only knock once.
“So, if you don’t take those opportunities, baka hindi na bumalik."
But still, education should be Lorin's priority.
“Lagi kong sinasabi kay Lorin na she should focus on her studies.
"Kasi kapag nawala na yung show business, kailangan there’s something for her to fall back on.”
