On the morning of May 28, at around 10:00 a.m., Jolina Magdangal gave birth via Caesarean section to Vika Anaya, her second child with husband Mark Escueta.
Jolina said she and Mark couldn't contain their tears upon seeing their baby girl for the first time.
Jolina added that one possible reason why they were more nervous about her delivery was because she had a harder time with her pregnancy the second time around.
“Iba, e, iba itong pangalawa,” she said.
She continued, “So, magkaiba talaga. Yung edad, iba.
Jolina's blood sugar is normal now, and she just needs a follow-up check-up to see if her sugar level remains the same for six weeks.
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) talked to the Magandang Buhay host via a phone call while she was still at the Asian Hospital in Muntinlupa City. She said that they might get discharged on Saturday, June 2.
Mommy Jolina also revealed that Baby Vika weighed 6.7 pounds, and measured 60 centimeters long.
“Maputing-maputi! Para siyang binuhusan ng baby powder. Ngayon, mapula-pula na,” she happily said.
Who does she think Baby Vika looks like?
Jolina is thankful that even if she had some struggles with her pregnancy, Baby Vika still came out healthy.
Because of this, mom and daughter have been cleared to stay together in their hospital room.
Alam mo na, walang Mara-Clara,” Jolina joked, referring to the plot of soap opera Mara Clara, which had two babies switched at birth.
The mom-of two has begun breastfeeding Vika, even if she still feels pain from her C-section stitch.
Meanwhile, fans couldn't help but reminisce about Jolina's fashion heyday, especially when she posted on Instagram a photo of Vika's hand with a butterfly clip, an accessory Jolina helped made famous in the '90s.
