Taiwan extends visa-free stays for Pinoys until July 2020

Taiwan is barely a sea away from the northernmost tip of the Philippines, but the island can feel like an absolutely different world.

So whether you're looking to take a quick break or really immerse yourself in a different culture, it deserves to be at the top of your list-especially since Taiwan has officially extended 14-day visa-free periods for Filipinos for another year, ending on July 31, 2020.

According to The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines, all Filipinos have to do to visit Taiwan visa free is to ensure they have a definite return trip, accommodations, and a clean criminal record—the bare minimum when planning for any trip abroad.

The 14-day period begins the day after your arrival in Taiwan, but be sure to plan ahead as it can't be extended!

Visa-free access to Taiwan for Filipinos first started in November of 2017.

According to the cultural office, Filipino visitors to the island saw an increase of 44% in 2018, reaching a total of around 419,000.
