On Monday, January 20, the Korean Embassy in the Philippines announced that processing visa approval will now take only 10-15 days. The current processing period is 25-27 days.
"The Embassy has allotted additional visa staffs for faster processing of Korean visa applications," they said on their website.
Travelers planning to visit Korea during its cherry blossom season can take advantage of this perk.
The embassy stated in the same announcement that "the reduced processing period will be retained during the peak season (March~April)."
This is expected to take effect by the end of February 2020.

Recently, they implemented a policy allowing Philippine passport holders to enter South Korea without a visa, provided they enter the country in group then depart from Jeju island.
This visa-free policy is scheduled for testing during the first half of 2020, according to the Korean Embassy.
