Christian Bautista and Kat Ramnani tied the knot on November 17, 2018, in Bali, Indonesia, but it was only last December that they had their honeymoon in South Africa.
"South Africa is really a very nice place to visit, makikita mo yung animals, yung nature, yung scenery," Christian said.
Where did they go in South Africa?
"Pumunta kami sa Zimbabwe, nakita namin yung Victoria Falls, iyon yung choice ko.
"Kasi, nababasa ko lang yun sa libro, e, nababasa ko lang sa high school books, 'tapos, doon nakita ko talaga, napaka-amazing, napaka-amazing!"
He continued, “And pumunta rin kami sa Cape Town and sa Franschhoek, ang daming makikita doon.
"May mga wine lands, merong mountains, may park, may animals and food, so yun.”
Did seeing those sights in person bring him back to those high school days?
Christian laughed, “Parang bumalik ako sa nung hindi pa ako showbiz!”
Were the wild animals scary?
“Medyo. Yung ano, may elephant kasi na parang akala niya, susugurin namin iyung anak niya.
"So, una, parang tinitingnan-tingnan niya kami, biglang sumisigaw na siya.
“'Tapos, yung tenga niya, parang lumalaki, 'tapos lumalapit na.”
So what did they do?
“Nakakotse naman kami so, ‘Okay alis na tayo’, yung guide namin.”
It was a good thing the elephant didn't chase them.
“Buti na lang po.”
Christian and Kat were able to spend quality time together, especially in the remote areas of South Africa.
The host of GMA-7's All Out Sundays explained, "Kasi, may mga areas doon na mahina ang Wi-Fi, walang signal.
"Kayo lang talaga yung mag-uusap, magbabasa kayo ng libro, kain."
Since they spent so much time together, is it safe to assume we'll be seeing a mini Christian or mini Kat soon?
Christian laughed, “Well, tingnan natin. Kung lahat, may chance."
For now, he appreciated discovering new things about his wife during their three-week honeymoon.
"[I discovered] na it's really fun to be her friend, and we became very good friends!
“In that sense, mas naging close kami in that sense, na ang sarap pala naming kasama...pag wala masyadong stress.”
Three weeks was actually the longest amount of time they had spent together, just the two of them. This made Christian realize the importance of being alone with his wife.
He mused, “I think so, yes, so parang na-discover din namin na we need more of this to be in the relationship.
"Kasi, when we got back here, trabaho agad, reality, may trabaho siya, may trabaho ako.
“And it’s important for any relationship, any friendship, any family, any marriage na yung time talaga and disconnect, walang cellphone, importante.”
So, when are they planning to have a second honeymoon?
“Isa pa, 2nd, 3rd, 4th,” Christian laughed.
The couple came home to the Philippines on January 12, the same day the Taal Volcano erupted.
How is their house in Cavite?
“Medyo nadali nang slight, kasi malapit sa Batangas, pero walis lang naman.”
But they didn't leave the house?
“Hindi naman, hindi naman kailangan iwanan.”
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) spoke to Christian on January 18, Saturday, at the blessing of Smilee Apparel, the new business venture of Shamcey Supsup and the family of her husband, Lloyd Lee.
