Beach islands and resorts celebrities love to visit (2020 edition)

Summer or not, celebrities love to spend time by the beach.

Here is a list of go-to destinations where our favorite stars usually get their dose of sun, sea, and sand:

Balesin Island Club

Heart Evangelista is a frequent visitor of the Balesin Island Club in the Quezon province.

The resort holds a special place in her heart, particularly because she and her husband, Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero, got married here in 2015.

Balesin Island Club is a members-only private resort that is accessible via a 25-minute plane ride from Manila.

It has seven themed villages that recreate the architecture, landscape, and cuisines of international beach destinations such as Bali in Indonesia, Phuket in Thailand, Mykonos in Greece, and St. Tropez in France.

One of the resort's main attractions is the 14-suite Balesin Royal Villa, which is situated by the Lamon Bay in the southern part of Luzon.

san juan, La Union

Some celebrities choose to go to San Juan, La Union because it is easily accesible via the north expressway.

One can travel either by bus or car to this surfing destination.

La Union also offers some cozy spots for coffee and food lovers.

Nasugbu, batangas

Beach houses are the usual way to go when one wants to drive south and unwind by the beaches of Nasugbu, Batangas.

A popular place is the Tali Beach House.

But if one prefers to stay in a resort, the other options are Pico de Loro Beach and Country Club.

Palawan

Among the most visited spots are Coron, El Nido, and, of course, Amanpulo.

In Coron, stars often visit Club Paradise Palawan.

The exclusive resort is situated on a 19-hectare island "dotted in a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve."

Boracay island in aklan

Heading down to the Visayas region, Boracay is the top beach destination and is arguably the country's most famous beach hub.

The island underwent rehabilitation to clean it up in 2018 and reopened later that year, albeit with stricter regulations on enviroment sustainability.

It may no longer be the party destination it used to be known, but it remains as one of the best places for family or barkada getaways.

International magazines Travel + Leisure and Conde Nast Traveller have named Boracay as one of the favorite destinations of tourists for the longest time.

The cebu islands

The Philippines continues to take a spot on the world's best islands lists, thanks to three destinations: Palawan, Boracay, and the Cebu Islands.

In 2019, Travel + Leisure placed Cebu on the seventh spot of the World's Best Asian Islands.

Conde Nast Traveller also named Cebu as the second best island in Asia in 2019.

Cebu draws around two million tourists a year, says Lonely Planet, particularly for its white-sand beaches and diving spots.

Malapascua Island is one of the go-to diving spots in Cebu.

Sarah Lahbati and Richard Gutierrez visited the island back in 2017.

The Bellevue Resort in Bohol

Heading over to Bohol, celebrities often book their vacations at The Bellevue Resort in Panglao.

The island resort is an exclusive five-star resort that places "emphasis on comfort and privacy.

It is also recognized as "the first and only" five-star resort in Bohol.

Kylie Verzosa, Ella Cruz, Diana Zubiri, Moira dela Torre, and Rhian Ramos have had their vacations here.

In the region of Mindanao, the Siargao Island is the top beach destination.

It became the alternative beach hangout when Boracay temporarily closed in 2018.

Travel + Leisure has paid tribute to Bali's "incomparable beauty."

Bali is part of the "Coral Triangle," which means its coral reefs have "the highest diversity of marine species on earth."
