ABS-CBN actress Sue Ramirez was appointed as Korean Tourism Organization's (KTO) newest honorary ambassador, replacing fellow Kapamilya star Jessy Mendiola.
Sue officially received her plaque of appointment at a press launch held in Fairmont Makati hotel on Monday, December 19.
In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other members of the press, Sue expressed her gratitude to the organization.
"I'm truly fortunate talaga, sa dami ng artista, ako yung napili nila na maging honorary ambassadress nila for Korean Tourism dito sa Philippines," the 20-year-old actress remarked.
"Sobrang blessed lang po talaga ng pakiramdam, sobrang excited na akong magsimula sa mga kailangan kong gawin, and I promise na gagawin ko lahat ng magagawa ko as an ambassadress for Korean Tourism."
On why they chose Sue as the newest face of Korean Tourism in the Philippines, Mr. Inshik Park, director of KTO Manila Office, said, "She is a very great image, she is also interested in Korea, and that's why we talked to her and she okayed."
Members of the press also inquired why Jessy was replaced by Sue.
Hyejin Jang, senior assistant manager of KTO Manila, said Jessy had already reached the maximum years of service as an honorary ambassadress based on the organization's policy.
The Kapamilya actress signed a two-year contract back in 2013, and extended her term for a year.
For her part, Sue said, "Hindi naman mapapalitan si Jessy Mendiola, siyempre naman.
"Siguro something new and something different kasi magkaiba naman kaming tao and kung ano man yung na-offer ni Ate Jessy."
She added, "I'm sure talagang satisfied naman ang KTO dun, pero may something new naman siguro yung hinahanap nila, and andito ako para i-offer yun sa kanila."
Sue will be serving as Korea's local ambassador for Tourism until November 2018.
K-EXPERIENCE. At the press conference, Sue also expressed her excitement to carry on her duties.
The former Dolce Amore actress might visit South Korea during the first quarter of 2017.
Park himself invited her, "If she's available, we'd like to invite her either in January or in February."
Sue said she has been anticipating to visit the South Korea during its winter season.
The actress giggled, "Kasi nagpaawa po ako, sabi ko hindi pa ako nakakakita ng snow. Kaya ayan na nga, sabi nila, 'Hanggang may snow pa, papuntahin na natin ng Korea iyan.'"
Aside from snow, Sue also looks forward to trying authentic Korean cuisine.
"Pagkain talaga, excited na excited ako. Actually, kagabi lang, kumain ako ng Korean kasi para ma-feel ko naman, para ma-vibe ko sa sarili ko.
"Sinabi kasi sa akin nung Ambassador ng Korea, half-Korean na daw ako ngayon.
"Pero joke lang yun siyempre, pero sobrang excited ako talaga mag-travel."

She said, "Siyempre excited ako mag-Jeju [Island].
"Siyempre napanood naman nating lahat ang Train To Busan, siyempre gusto nating bisitahin niyan.
"And ang Seoul, ang dami talaga. Napakaganda ng Korea and excited akong ipakita yun sa lahat ng Pilipino."
Sue said she's also game for adventures.
"Mahilig kasi talaga ako mag-travel and yung mga adrenaline stuff kasi si Ate Jessy, nag-zip line ata siya before kaya excited ako dun."
But her focus this year will be the Gangwondo province, where the 2018 Pyeong Chang Winter Olympics will be held.
Famous tourist destinations in Gangwondo include the Seoraksan National Park and Nami Island, where the famous Korean series Winter Sonata was shot.
