In 2016 alone, the couple flew thrice to Japan.

In the middle of Ueno Park, Jim surprised his then-girlfriend Saab with his proposal.
While Saab thought she and Jim were just taking photos, the guy turned to her and got down on one knee.
She cried tears of joy.
Aside from getting engaged at her “dream destination,” the moment was captured with plenty of photos and videos by the Magalona family.

In the exclusive interview of PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) with Aljur and Kylie, the actor revealed that his first proposal happened in Japan back in October 2016.
While they were walking around Tokyo Disney Sea, Kylie introduced Aljur to her favorite Disney character Ariel from The Little Mermaid.
Kylie narrated, “May istatwa kasi dun na Ariel bago ka pumasok sa Disney Sea, yung underwater land na Atlantica.
“'Tapos yun, ipinakita ko sa kanya na, ‘Ito si Ariel, favorite ko siya. Dahil sa kanya, gusto ko maging mermaid.
“'Tapos, habang nagsasalita ako, nakatalikod ako sa kanya, akala ko nakikinig, hindi pala.
“Gusto na niya mag-propose.
“Kaya nag-post ako na, ‘Happiest tears.’”
Diana Zubiri and Andy Smith
One of Tokyo’s city landmarks played a part in Andy’s proposal to Diana.
In early 2015, at the foot of the Tokyo Sky Tree, the tallest structure in Japan, Andy asked Diana to marry him.
After more than a year, the couple returned to Tokyo to celebrate their first anniversary as husband and wife.
