Back-to-back expulsion in 'Pinoy Dream Academy'

Two more scholars were expelled this weekend from the reality-based talent search Pinoy Dream Academy (PDA) of ABS-CBN. They were Chai Fonacier of Cagayan de Oro and Michelle Bond of The Netherlands.

Chai was the first to go after losing a very close fight with co-nominee Eman Abatayo of Iloilo City, 6-5, from the votes cast by the other scholars during the 8th expulsion night of PDA last November 4.

Two other scholars under probation avoided expulsion. Ronnie Liang of Pampanga got the most number of votes while Rosita Bareng of Dubai was saved by the PDA faculty.

Rosita also avoided automatic expulsion by getting a high mark from the jurors (composed of Kitchy Molina, Girlie Rodis, and Rene Garcia of the Hotdogs).

Going to the gala night last Saturday, Michelle was safe from being expelled because she was not under probation. But her performance that evening earned her the lowest grade, 7.35, from the jurors.

Because of this, Michelle was again under probation for the fifth time that caused her automatic expulsion. As per PDA rule, a scholar who incurred five probations will be automatically expelled.

PDA Headmaster Jim Paredes broke the news to Michelle during the 9th nomination night of Pinoy Dream Academy last November 5. Jim also announced that because of Michelle's ouster, the three other scholars who got the lowest grades last Saturday—Jay-R Siaboc of Cebu, Davey Langit of Baguio, and Irish Fullerton of USA—are safe from being expelled this week.

That means that there will be no voting this week. The remaining 12 scholars will all perform on November 11 and their grades will determine who among them will be under probation next week.
