Dayanara: I'm glad to be back to my second home

"Magandang hapon po sa inyong lahat," greets Dayanara Torres at a press conference earlier today at the 6750 Executive Lounge in Makati. “Maraming maraming salamat po [sa inyong pagdalo]. I’m so honored.”

The former Miss Universe—who starred in several local films and TV shows in the 90’s—is back after eight long years to endorse Beverly Hills 6750 Cosmetic Surgery and Skin Institute in Makati.

"This project means a lot," exclaims the 32-year-old singer-actress. "The first time I’ve heard about it, I’ve realized it’s the perfect project for me—being a beauty queen, knowing about how beauty will make us feel in the inside, pampering myself with facials and stuff. [I] love everything about the place, the clinic, the treatment—especially being able to somehow bring the medical tourism here to the Philippines. I lived here for five years and have nothing but incredible memories, and just a great time here. And for me to be able to let the whole world know about this great country is just a given. It wasn’t a question anymore. It was absolutely a ‘yes’ to come to the Philippines and do this project…"

"We have searched for about two years for the image that we really wanted to portray as Beverly Hills [6750] in the Philippines," seconds former athlete and CEO of the company David Bunevacz. "We went through a lot of Hollywood stars and at one point, we were already going to make a deal with a certain individual and Miss Dayanara Torres’ name came up, and from that point, about four-five months ago, it was a non-stop clamor about Dayanara… We wanted to look for someone that was a universal image of beauty—not just a local beauty—but someone that would entice the world to come to the Philippines. That’s our main goal."

Though Yari—Dayanara’s nickname—is only here for a short four-day visit, she is open to coming back to the country more often.

"Hopefully," says Aga Muhlach’s ex-flame. "I would love for that to happen. Philippines is a place that I call home for five years and I had no idea I was going to love it as much. I fell in love from the very beginning, thinking that I was going to stay for a couple of months. I stayed for five years—working hard, [meeting] so many friends. I’m so glad to be back to my second home."
