Jolina Magdangal sports new hairdo for 'StarStruck'


Jolina changes with her hairdo, which was done by the Propaganda salon in Greenbelt 1.


Actress-singer-TV host Jolina Magdangal has decided to sport a new hairdo for the upcoming new season of GMA-7's reality-based talent search, StarStruck.


In an interview with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Jolina animatedly talks about her much shorter hairdo: “Bukal na bukal sa loob ko yun. Konting ganun, tuyo na. First time na ganito to.”



Then Jolens searched for her wallet inside her bag and found her license that has her kiddie picture in it. The photo showed the pop icon with her short hair. “That was the last time I had very short hair.”



“Apple cut lang yun e, pambata. Naisip kong magpapagupit na ako. After nung I Love NY [her last TV series with GMA-7]. Dun sa I Love NY, sobrang haba 'nun, hanggang baywang 'yun. Kasi pang-ilang StarStruck na puro mahaba na lang. Tagal na sigurong sobrang mahabang buhok.”



“May one percent na [nagsasabing] matatanggap kaya ito ng tao?”



Jolens's new look received different reactions. “Siguro hindi sila sanay. Sinasabi ko lang, Init kasi e. Ayaw mo? Try mo.”



Her boyfriend, Bebong Muñoz, has no problems with Jolens’s new hairstyle. “Alam niyang magpapagupit ako pero hindi niya aakalain na ganito. Sabi nga niya, parang may bago akong girlfriend. ‘Pag nakikita ko yung luma kong hair, hindi naman ako nanghihinayang pero natutuwa ako.”



Jolina is not just known as a host-actress and singer but also as a celebrity with a head-turning fashion sense. Madonna and Cindy Lauper are her top favorite fashion icons. “Binibihisan na ako [noon] ng ate ko. Nag-mature na rin. Gusto ko nang mag-ayos talaga.”



A lot of people may not know it, but Jolina keeps herself fit by boxing. She does this with Bebong. “Nagbo-boxing kami ni Bebong. Sa tabi-tabi lang. May trainor kami, si Gary Garay. Ako, si Karylle, si Kyla, si Rufa Mae, tatawag [din] kami ng trainor sa dancing naman. Gusto talaga namin 'yan e. Hindi pa lang namin na-schedule kung kelan.”

And with regard to staying slim and fit, she shares her diet secret: “Four-day diet lang. Protein, first day. Tapos vegetable naman sa third day. Fruits na lang sa fourth day. Minsan lang. Hindi madali [kasi] pine-prepare yung pagkain. [Mayroong] brown rice, wheat bread, tuna, oatmeal na may saging. Walang gatas, walang asukal.”
