Vina asking Borgy for a public apology

“We all deserve a public apology,” says Vina Morales in an interview with The Buzz yesterday, December 3. “Especially ako, to clear my name.”

The singer-actress is upset about statements made last November 29 by model-host Borgy Manotoc in the controversial radio show Good Times with DJ Mo Twister. Borgy names Vina as one of the three celebrities—Lana Asanin and Victoria London being the other two—he has gone to bed with.

“This is a painful experience kasi after 20 years in the business, marami na pong dumating na intriga sa buhay ko,” recounts the ASAP '06 host. “Ni-link ka dito, ni-link ka doon. ‘Yung iba katotohanan, ‘yung iba kasinungalingan. ‘Yung iba may dagdag. Pero ito, 20 years [in the business], kabastusan ‘to. Alam mo yung parang binaboy yung pangalan ko—that I’m going to bed with him, that I’m intimate with him. And in the first place, I know of him, but I don’t know him so well."

Vina adds, “Hi, hello lang po [kami]. Ang pagkakaalam ko kasi sa kanya, he’s a gentleman. Alam nyo ‘yon? Nakikita kasi natin sa commercials na ginagawa niya, sa endorsements. He’s a gentleman. At anak pa siya ni Congresswoman Marcos, Imee Marcos, di ba? [Galing sa] magandang pamilya. Alam mo ‘yon? Very good family, very rich family na hinahangaan mo na, ‘Eto, may pinag-aralan'"

The singer/dancer/host/actress says, “First time po ito, e. I’m in pain. [It’s] painful. I’m upset pero most of all ‘yung feelings na nararamdaman ko ngayon, I’m surprised. Hindi ko [kasi] siya kilala… He’s ungentleman sa ginawa niya, hindi lang sa akin [kundi pati] sa mga babaeng sinaktan niya. ‘Yong ibang mga girls, [iyong] mga lalake din po na masama ang nasabi niya, it’s very ungentlemanly of him. You know, para sa akin, we all deserve an apology, especially ako—to clear my name and for his ungentlemanly remarks towards all of us.”

She only has this to say to the It’s a Guy Thing host: “Kay Borgy, I don’t know kung paano nag-start ito. I don’t know if this [Borgy making statement] is true. Until now, medyo nagtatanong pa rin ako kasi hindi ko alam ang istorya. Baka nagbibiruan lang sila [ni DJ Mo]. If it’s a joke, ang dami niyang nasaktan na tao. Hindi lang ako. We all need a public apology. ‘Yun lang. Oo, humihingi ako [ng apology]. I think I deserve that. From there, let’s move on.”

When asked if Vina is going to file charges if Borgy does not issue a public apology: “I will think about it since [merong] slander and oral defamation of character. Sabi nga ni Tito Ricky Lo [entertainment columnist], and Joji [Dingcong], my manager, ‘You know, hayaan na lang natin siya kung hindi siya mag-apology.’ Ang importante if he’s gentleman enough to say sorry."
