Premier Filipino comedian Michael V. bagged the best comedy actor award for the second time at the Asian TV Awards held last November 30 in Singapore. His first award came just last year.
Michael was again recognized for his performance in the GMA-7 gag show Bubble Gang. The show, now on its 11th year, was a runner-up in the best comedy program category.
Keempee de Leon, who was nominated with Michael V. in the same category, was cited for his gay role in Bahay Mo Ba ‘To, also of GMA-7.
Megastar Sharon Cuneta was recognized as best entertainment presenter for her ABS-CBN talk show Sharon.
The Kapamilya Network also won two other recognitions for its news and current affairs programs. Juvenile Justice was the runner-up for best public affairs program, while XXX: eXplosibong eXklusibong eXpose was commended in the same category.
The award for terrestrial channel of the year was given to Seoul Broadcasting Channel. Last year's recipient of the highest honor was GMA Network from the Philippines.
The Asian TV Awards is now on its 11th year.
