“Na-mention niya sa akin na magpapakasal siya pero 2007 pa,” says Say Alonzo in an interview with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) on December 11. “So, I was surprised na kasal na pala siya.”
Say’s friend and fellow Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) housemate, Nene Tamayo, secretly married her U Can Dance dance partner, Anthony Plamio, on October 3—a few days after her September 27 birthday. In an interview with The Buzz last Sunday, Nene admitted her whirlwind romance and wedding.
Fresh from her two-week U.S. vacation, Say says she didn’t have any idea what her close friend revealed. “Tulog ako noon kasi jet lag. Nagising ako 8 pm na. Pagtingin ko sa phone ko, ‘Nene’s married!’ Uma [Khouny] was calling me. ‘Nene got married. Did you know about this?’ Sabi ko ‘No.’ Sabi nila, ‘You’re lying. She mentioned in The Buzz that you knew about it.’”
She adds, “Kasi alam ko daw. Sabi nila ‘You’re Nene’s closest friend, hindi mo alam?’ Sabi ko ‘She mentioned na magpapakasal siya, pero 2007 at hindi ko siya sineryoso noon.’”
The Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah Ze Moveeh star says she has met Anthony. “Several times nakasama ko siya. Mabait naman siya… Sabi ni Nene sa amin, she’s not looking for anything more. ‘Yong love lang, ‘yon ang wala sa kanya. She has a house, a car, and two businesses. She has money. She has a movie.”
Nene is starring in her first movie, Shake, Rattle and Roll 8.
“So kulang na lang talaga sa kanya, love life. Pero siguro na-in love lang talaga siya [kaya nagpakasal agad].”
Before Nene’s quickie wedding, Nene was linked to fellow PBB housemate Bob dela Cruz.
“Alam namin na never talagang magiging sila,” asserts Say. “Never talaga silang magiging sila ni Bob kasi may mga qualities si Bob na ayaw ni Nene.”
When asked why she herself doesn’t have a boyfriend, Say says she isn’t picky. “Basta ayoko lang ng taga-showbiz,” she says, sounding final.
