Gerald admits past relationship with Farina Runkle; Kim hurt

"Nabigla, nasaktan" was Kim Chiu's reaction after seeing screen partner Gerald Anderon's photos with a showbiz aspirant.

Gerald Anderson admits having a relationship with aspiring young actress Farina Runkle prior to joining the ABS-CBN reality show Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Teen Edition.

In an interview with ABS-CBN's The Buzz on December 24, Gerald stresses, however, that he had broken up with Farina before entering the PBB house, the venue that launched his showbiz career.

"Nagkaroon po kami ng samahan pero bago pa po ako sumali sa Pinoy Big Brother," Gerald says. "Hindi na po ngayon. Magkaibigan na lang po kami."

Images of Gerald and Farina together have spread on the Internet, including one photo where they have their lips locked in a tender kiss.

According to Gerald, Farina attempted but failed to make the cut in the PBB Teen Edition. Since the show started airing last summer, they have not been in touch, swears Gerald.

Farina also tried her luck in the GMA-7 reality-based talent search Starstruck, but she only made it to the Top 40.

According to Gerald's on-screen partner, Kim Chiu--his co-star in the upcoming ABS-CBN teleserye Sana Maulit Muli--she was surprised when she saw the photographs.

"Nabigla, nasaktan," Kim says, describing her feelings when she first saw the photographs. But she says this will not affect their friendship because she knows that Gerald's relationship with Farina is a thing of the past.

Kim's comments have sparked speculation that she and Gerald have an ongoing romance after all. But Gerald has been quick to dispel this, saying they are merely supportive of each other as close friends.

Kim and Gerald are the hottest young love team to come from Star Magic in a long while. The last in recent memory might be the now-defunct Sandara-Hero love team. As they once did with Sandara and Hero, the fans get loud and wild when Gerald and Kim appear together in fashion shows, live entertainment programs, premieres, and launches. Already, the two of them are endorsers of the clothing-accessory line, Bench.
