The Super Noypi star bares a little more skin in her pictorial for Maxim, a men's magazine.
Unverified reports say that for her first-ever sexy pictorial, Jennylyn decided to get a breast implant. Jennylyn has denied this vehemently.
As she said in an S-Files taped interview: "Ang pangit pakinggan. Ang pangit tingnan sa isang babae na nagpa-retoke ka. Wala, hindi ako nag-ganun. Hindi [rin] ako against sa mga ganun."
The fast-rising GMA-7 talent also clarified that she did not go too daring in the men's magazine. "Ayokong magpa-sexy nang sobra-sobra. A little skin is enough. Yung cover na yun, hindi namin plinano yun. Idea ni Direk Quark Henares at promo namin for our movie Super Noypi. Wala naman sigurong masama dun sa ginawa ko."
S-Files asked Jennylyn's Super Noypi co-stars Mark Herras and Katrina Halili what they thought of the "new Jen."
Mark said this about his former girlfriend: "Masaya pa nga ako para sa kanya e. Eto na yung another Jennylyn. Hindi naman ako against dun. Ako, suportado pa. Wala namang problema dun."
Asked whether he would buy a copy, he replied, smiling: "Hihingi na lang ako." About the "retokada" issue, Mark said: "Ang alam ko, mayroon siyang pinatanggal."
Katrina Halili said about her StarStruck batchmate's pictorial: "Sexy naman siya, wala namang masama dun. Sexy naman sila e, nauna lang ako. Okay naman kami... Actually nagte-text kami."
For her part, Jennylyn said: "Ayokong ma-compare. Kasi hindi naman ako sexy star at hindi naman sexy yung pino-project ko. Ginawa ko lang ‘to for a movie. I'm so happy and grateful na yung Maxim, inalagaan talaga nila ako."
Jennylyn Mercado is just one of the many young stars who have joined the cover-girl bandwagon. Other young stars who have graced the covers of men's magazines such as FHM and Uno are Angel Locsin, Chynna Ortaleza, Iwa Moto, Katrina Halili, Valerie Concepcion, and Ehra Madrigal. Also in the list are Tanya Garcia, Camille Prats, Pauleen Luna, Bianca King, Kaye Abad, and Angelica Panganiban.
Jennylyn is in good company.
