Faith Cuneta recounts her manager's arrest


Faith Cuneta says even though her manager is facing legal problems, she believes that her career won't be affected. She explained, "Actuallypo, ‘yong manager ko, he's the type of manager na nakaplano na ‘yong year ko soI have schedules na for the next three months."


Faith Cuneta's manager, Jacob Fernandez, was arrested onFebruary 16 at Metro Bar, Quezon City by agents from the National Bureau ofInvestigation (NBI). Jacob was said to have been charged with fraud by aChinese businesswoman-mother of his former fiancé. Jacob allegedly owed thebusinesswoman P10 million.

"Noong Thursday night po, I went to Metro Bar sa dressingroom, mga 11 o'çlock kasi my show is 12. Mini-make-upan po ako. After five orten minutes, [Jacob] went inside. Binigay niya sa akin ‘yong list ng songs forthe night. And then after that, parang he went somewhere lang doon sa dressingroom," recounted Faith in an interview with The Buzz.

"Two men went inside. Ako naman, parang feeling koparang... They even said ‘Hi Faith...' I thought it was one of his bodyguards, parangganyan. So may kausap siya parang okay naman. So ako, napapatingin ako samirror. Sabi ko parang there's something wrong. Until nag-meet ‘yong mata namin[ni Jacob], like three to five seconds. Parang something iswrong, but it will be okay. Ganoon lang ‘yong tingin ko sa eyes niya," shenarrated.

Jacob was arrested while Faith was performing.

Faith clarified that she didn't know anything about hermanager's case. She said, "Wala po akong kaalam-alam doon sa case na ‘yon.Hindi ko po nabalitaan ‘yon. Actually, ‘yong case po 'ata it's 2001 [pa]. Nakilala kopo ‘yong manager ko 2004."

The singer also denied reports that she was having a relationshipwith her manager.

"Ang relasyon po namin manager and talent... hindipo. Actually, ngayon ko lang po narinig," she remarked.
