Local showbiz fans will get something controversial, something comprehensive, and something exclusive when they grab a copy of the March issue of YES! magazine, the print version of PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal).
SOMETHING CONTROVERSIAL. Gretchen Barretto and Lani Mercado have not been on good terms for nearly 12 years. The cause? Gretchen and Lani's husband, Senator Bong Revilla, had a fling in 1992, around the time they were filming Ako Ang Katarungan.
Lani and Gretchen, through the help of their mutual friend Lorna Tolentino, already made peace last December 23, 2003—the reconciliation was quite short-lived though because a new rift emerged two years after.
Gretchen excitedly announced early last year that she was doing a movie again and would have a cameo role in a reunion film with Bong Revilla. This was Bong's idea. Apparently, he failed to inform Lani. Lani was the last to know. In fact, she learned about it via news.
The said announcement of La Greta triggered a controversial text message, which Lani allegedly passed around, and it went this way: "Kung ikaw si Lani, hahayaan mo bang makasama ulit ng asawa mo si Gretchen?"
In the end, Gretchen backed out of the movie project because she doesn't want "anything which would cause animosity" between her and Lani. The senator's wife was also conciliatory that she even sent Gretchen a bouquet of flowers.
But in December 2006, Gretchen and Lani met again at the birthday party of Lorna Tolentino held at the Manila DJ Club in Greenhills, San Juan. YES! gives the detailed account of the said incident branded as "Isnaban blues."
SOMETHING COMPREHENSIVE. Then there's the budding romance between KC Concepcion and TV director Lino Cayetano. PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) was the first to break the initial sightings of the two—the "Tagaytay lunch" and "Boracay trip."
In Dolly Anne Carvajal's column "Dollywood," the entertainment columnist wrote: "Got this email and picture from Kace Cayetano (email@example.com) dated Jan. 26. Just homonymous not synonymous to KC (Concepcion), huh? Looks like KC and Lino are living it up—Paris, Manila, Bora, Tagaytay and now, Hongkong. Before KC flew back to Paris, she and Lino spent a few weeks in HK according to the email sender."
Sharon Cuneta, KC's mother, apparently got upset with the article. YES! relays the reactions of the Megastar.
SOMETHING EXCLUSIVE. The elusive Janno Gibbs finally talks about his wife Bing Loyzaga and their relationship; the real score between him and Gladys Guevarra; all the girls that were romantically linked to him before—Manilyn Reynes, Jackie Forster, Regine Velasquez, Jaya, and Cristine Reyes.
When asked about the possibility of reconcilation with Bing: "Ako I personally feel—I still want her, I still want the family."
All of these and more when you grab the March issue of YES! magazine.
