After the success of GMA Films' Moments of Love last year, Regal Films decided to make a follow-up movie for its stars, Dingdong Dantes and Iza Calzado, at isama na rin ang tambalang Jennylyn Mercado and Mark Herras. Ang unang na-pitch na project ay ang My Kuya's Wedding, a family-romance comedy written by Allan Tijamo, ang US-based writer ng Blue Moon ng Regal Films for the 2005 Metro Manila Film Festival.
Napalitan ang project and instead of this script, director Mark Reyes commissioned Gina Marissa Tagasa to write a new story, and thus, Eternity was created. Last year din ipinalabas ang naturang project.
This year, the script of My Kuya's Wedding is pulled off the shelf to be the launching movie of Maja Salvador and also Ryan Agoncillo's first project for Regal Films.
Sina Ryan and Maja ang nasa title role bilang magkapatid with the kuya na about to get married and the bunso doing everything para hindi ito matuloy.
Presumably, this would have been Dingdong's and Jennylyn's roles sana.
Now, Jennylyn is still part of the cast bilang the bride to be of Ryan na dapat ay kay Iza noon. Jennylyn also replaced Jolina Magdangal, na original choice for this revived project, but had to decline. Magsisimula na kasi ang election period at tutulong si Jolens na kumampanya for her boyfriend Bebong Muñoz na tatakbo for congressman sa second district ng Caloocan.
Ang role naman na para kay Mark noon—that of a wannabe actor na sali nang sali sa mga talent-reality shows—ay napunta kay Jason Abalos, na isa ring produkto ng artista search show, Star Circle Quest II, gaya ni Mark na produkto naman ng StarStruck.
Si Topel Lee ang magdidirek ng My Kuya's Wedding, his first romantic film after three successive horror movies—Dilim, "Yaya" episode of Shake, Rattle & Roll 8, and the upcoming Ouija from GMA Films.
