Ruffa on Yilmaz: "He's still hoping magkabalikan kami."

"Siguro rin pinapakita ko rin na matigas ako. Tinuturuan ko din siya ng leksyon. And if the time comes na talagang gusto ko siyang kausapin, or patawarin ko siya, patawarin siya ng mga magulang ko, I think it's best that we do it face-to-face kasi ang hirap naman kung sa telepono lang," says Ruffa Gutierrez about her estranged husband, Yilmaz Bektas.

"Nasa Phuket, [Thailand] si Yilmaz kasi magmumuni muni daw siya mag-isa..." Ruffa Gutierrez said about her estranged husband Yilmaz Bektas in an interview with The Buzz yesterday, May 20.

Almost two weeks after the couple announced that they were separating, the two have sent several statements to both ABS-CBN and GMA-7. One of these was a joint statement while the others were issued separately. Since then, there was also much talk that Yilmaz was arriving in Manila to try and patch things up with his wife. Last May 15, the media waited for hours. There was no Yilmaz.

Ruffa explained, "He was supposed to come a few days ago, pero noong nalaman niya na lahat ng tao inaabangan siya sa airport, tapos gusto siyang kausapin, natakot siya kasi ayaw daw niyang pumunta dito't mag-usap kami para maging soap opera ang lahat ng nangyayari. So para makaiwas sa mas lalong magiging magulo na pag-uusap, he decided to stay where he is."

Ruffa admitted that her Turkish husband still calls her on the phone.

"We are obviously in constant contact because of the kids also. Feeling niya kasi, one day...he's still hoping magkabalikan kami. Ayaw niya na magkaroon ako ng isang kulang na araw kung saan ako nandoon noong araw na ‘yon," she said.

Yilmaz was said to have been wooing his wife back. Ruffa claimed he was not really succeeding.

She said, "I'm listening to him. Nakikita ko na lahat ng mga ginagawa niya. Nagsisisi siya kung mayroon pagkukulang man siya sa akin. He's trying to make up for it."

Ruffa said she could feel Yilmaz's sincerity.

"Siguro rin pinapakita ko rin na matigas ako," Ruffa said very frankly. "Tinuturuan ko din siya ng leksyon. And if the time comes na talagang gusto ko siyang kausapin, or patawarin ko siya, patawarin siya ng mga magulang ko, I think it's best that we do it face-to-face kasi ang hirap naman kung sa telepono lang."
