Noong nakaraang June 18 ay ginanap ang contract signing sa pagitan nina Jonas Gaffud (ng Empire.PH) at Rosko Dickinson (Executive President of Manhunt International Organization) para sa 20th Edition ng Manhunt International na gaganapin dito sa Pilipinas mula February 15-23, 2020.
Ito ay ipu-produce ng Empire Group of Companies: Empire.PH, Empire Studios, GLAM (Global Asian Model), at Mercator Artist & Model Management, Inc. na si Jonas Gaffud ang nagmamay-ari.
Dumating sa bansa ang Manhunt International 2018 winner na si Vicent Llorach Gonzales para sa contract signing at siya rin ang magsasalin ng korona sa bagong mananalong Manhunt International sa Gala World Final night sa February 22, 2020 dito sa Manila.
Ginanap ang kanilang contract signing sa Dusit Thani Hotel.
Tinanong si Jonas kung hindi ba mas mahirap i-market ang male pageant kaysa female pageant.
“Well, I was talking to Rosko earlier and we are the same in the thought that Manhunt International is not a male pageant.
“It’s a modeling competition.
“So I think that there is more room for marketing in the modeling world, especially for male models.
“So I think we will be able to market this,” paninigurado niya.
Pressured ba siya na dito sa Pilipinas idaraos ang 20th Edition ng Manhunt International?
“Oo, medyo pressured, siyempre!
“Actually, pikit-mata na lang ito,” at tumawa ang beauty queen maker.
Dagdag niya, “But you know, I believe in the competition.
“I went to Gold Coast, Australia last year. It was my first time to watch a male competition.
“I had fun with Rosko. He was very accommodating and then I really think that Vicent would win when I was there.
“So when we were talking about it, naisip ko na parang, ‘Oh! Bakit hindi nga dito?’
“Kasi there are other countries who want to host the competition like China and Vietnam.
“And I’m really grateful that Rosko trusted me to do this.”
Ano ang paghahandang ginagawa ni Jonas para sa naturang modeling competition?
“We were just done with Miss Universe-Philippines, sa Binibining Pilipinas, so medyo naging busy talaga ako.
“Ngayon lang ako nagpa-plan ulit.
“And before this, we also have the Global Asian Model search [GLAM] in November, so medyo sunud-sunod yung gagawin namin sa Empire.
“But this one kasi, ang plano ko talaga na maging up-to-date, na very modern siya na touch in a modeling competition.
“Hindi yung parang normal na napapanood natin, na may… well importante ang costume competition or whatever.
“Pero sana mag-evolve na rin lahat ng contest katulad ng ginagawa ng Miss Universe, nag-e-evolve sila.
“So I want to make this na parang very modern, mag-e-evolve siya na parang mas maa-attract yung international community, yung mga models na, ‘Ah, magandang sumali dito kasi para siyang modeling competition talaga!’
“Modeling competition is really a venue for yung mga models to be discovered, scouted and you know, land very good jobs in the future,” pahayag pa ni Jonas.
