FIRST READ ON PEP: Paolo Bediones reveals relationship with beauty queen Abigail Cruz

"He [God] never let me down. And that's one thing talaga that I'm not ashamed. People can say ‘Oh, he's getting preachy.' I don't care. Sa akin, I can't explain why I have a relationship right now. I can't explain why I have commercials now. They just came," says TV host Paolo Bediones about all his blessings.

PEP (Philippine Entertaiment Portal) caught up with premiere TV host Paolo Bediones at the presscon of his new game show, Whammy, Press Your Luck held at the Oasis in Quezon City earlier today, October 2. Paolo is co-hosting the said game show with sexy comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto.

Paolo is back to the grind of hosting a daily show. He is also hosting another game show at the Kapuso network, Tok! Tok! Tok! Isang Milyon Pasok which is seen every Sunday.

Paolo is thankful for all the blessings that have come his way. It's been quite sometime after he had a daily show. His last daily show was Extra Challenge that ended with high television ratings.

"More than a year din ako nabakante na may daily show after Extra Challenge left the air. 'Yon yung time na na-depress ako, feeling ko wala na. Wala ka nang daily show. I felt wala na. Akala ko, 'yon na yun. It was very hard for me kasi siyempre, as an artist, everyday nasa television ka tapos biglang nawala. So, it was really painful," he said.

Paolo did not hesitate to tell how he got through all the trials. He credits it to his girlfriend, Abigail Cruz. Abigail is the 2007 Binibining Pilipinas 2nd runner-up and she had a small role in the action series Lupin starring Richard Gutierrez. Paolo was one of the hosts of the said beauty pageant.

"It's such a relief that I get to talk about her," Paolo said. "There's been never really an opportunity. This is my first presscon for such a long time. So, I'm not one to promote my relationship but if it's asked of me, I'm not going to deny it.

"I'm extremely proud of it. I think the blessing came when she came. She's brought me closer to God. And I'm more at peace with myself. I'm less of an angsty person than I was before," he proudly told PEP.

He goes on to describe how he and Abby are working on their relationship.

"Recently, when we started going out, she re-introduced me to church regularly. Before I used to 'hindi ako pupunta.' Before, I didn't hear mass anymore. I'm Roman Catholic. Tumigil ako. Tumigil ako for like ten years. Hindi ako nagmi-misa."

The TV host continued, "When my relationship started, mga three or four months ago, we started going out. When I started going to church, wala pa ‘to [TV shows and endorsement]. Out of the blue, dumating yung mga endorsements ko. I have no idea why. And then, yun na. Dumating na yung mga blessings. Sunud-sunod talaga.

"Siyempre, may mga trials pa rin. I mean to be back on a daily show, what more can you ask for. Malaking blessing talaga iyon. Bago lang naman kami but the relationship is so intense and so deep because of nasa gitna nga yung Diyos," he said.
