Dennis Trillo and Carlene Aguilar at odds during the Holidays

"Mga ilang dalaw? Siguro mga four or five," Carlene Aguilar said. But Dennis Trillo refuted that: "Naku, hindi po totoo 'yon.

It seems the Holiday season has no good effect on former sweethearts Dennis Trillo and Carlene Aguilar, who are now only linked by their love child, Calix Andreas.

Dennis and Carlene went on air in StarTalk yesterday, December 29, and said contrasting statements about their present relationship.

Carlene was the first to be interviewed through phone patch by hosts Butch Francisco and Lolit Solis.

"Masaya! Masaya! Kakaibang saya kasi our entire family, including that of my grandparents both from my mother and father side po... Sobrang saya kasi si Calix at three months, alam niya na kung saan haharap, kung sa camera," Carlene happily said about the first Christmas of her son, Calix Andreas.

Carlene though was short on every answer to the other questions thrown at her.

"E, wala. Hindi naman po siya tumawag or anything," said Carlene about why Dennis didn't see Calix last Christmas.

"Akala ko din po. Pero wala naman po siyang tawag," the former beauty queen said when reminded about Dennis's past interviews where he said he wanted to be with his son on Christmas day.

Carlene then mentioned that Dennis visited them only about four or five times since they arrived from the United States.

"Basta sa akin lang, kung may sincere effort on his part, bakit po hindi ko papupuntahin?" she said.

Asked if there are plans for them to get together for the New Year celebration and further in 2008, Carlene answered: "Wala rin. So, wala talaga.

"Basta po kaming mag-ina, magiging masaya lang. Patuloy lang ang buhay," she declared.

DENNIS TRILLO'S VERSION. Later on the show, co-host Lorna Tolentino was able to get the side of her co-star in the action-fantasy series Zaido, Dennis Trillo, on the phone. Dennis, surprisingly, was very outspoken about his feelings regarding the situation between him and Carlene.

Dennis mentioned that he tried sending gifts for Calix through his driver on Christmas eve. 'Tapos nag-text siya [Carlene] sa akin, sabi niya, ‘I'm home but I can't receive your gifts.' Nasa akin po lahat ng mga text. Puwede ko pong ipakita."

Lorna asked Dennis if it's true that he visited Calix only four times since they arrived last October.

Dennis denied this. He said, "Naku, hindi po totoo 'yon.

Dennis also said that he hasn't been remiss in giving financial support for his son.

I make it a point na meron akong inaabot kapag pupunta ako. Tinatanong ko naman kung merong mga kailangan. Noong last time nga, hindi na nga tinatanggap yung mga pinapadala ko," claimed Dennis.

Dennis also admitted that he and Carlene haven't been talking the past few days.

Dennis disclosed that he is confused about what's happening between him and the mother of his son.

Sana... Sinabi mo sa akin na mag-move on [ka] na. Pero bakit ganoon pa rin yung nangyayari? 'Ayun, sana maging maayos yung lahat.

"And sino [ba] yung gusto ng ganito? Wala namang may gusto ng ganitong gulo. Kaya sana maisip mo rin yun na walang may gusto ng ganito na nagkakagulo tayo," Dennis said to Carlene with frustration in his voice.

Dennis is hopeful though that things can turn out for the better and he can see his son on New Year's day.

Siyempre, kapag pagsasabihan ka na walang effort..." said Dennis, trying to find the right words to end his message to Carlene.
