Talent manager Boy Abunda wants to put an end to the renewed feud between his ward Rufa Mae Quinto and singer Jessa Zaragoza that erupted over the weekend and became the hottest topic in showbiz talk shows.
Boy narrated a conversation he and Rufa Mae had last Monday, February 4: "Tama na.
It can be recalled that Jessa reacted to the statement made by Rufa Mae in the February 2008 issue of YES! magazine. Rufa Mae gave a tell-all interview about her past romantic relationships in showbiz. At one point, Rufa Mae talked about her love triangle with Jessa and singer Dingdong Avanzado eight years ago.
Dingdong and Jessa are now married and live in the United States with their daughter Jayda. Rufa Mae, Jessa, and Dingdong made their peace last July 2007 on Showbiz Central, whichRufa Mae co-hosts.
Jessa made a call to the showbiz talk show StarTalk Saturday afternoon, February 2, and stated that Rufa Mae's story was a complete lie. Rufa Mae then gave her statement on Showbiz Central the following day, saying that what she said in the YES! magazine article was her own story. Jessa had a phone conversation with rival showbiz talk show The Buzz, where Jessa pointed out that she and Rufa Mae were not best friends.
On the other hand, in her interview on The Buzz, Jessa asked for some understanding from Rufa Mae's talent manager, Boy Abunda, for hurling strong words against his ward. Boy is one of the hosts of The Buzz.
Katulad ni Rufa Mae, some of her most important interviews, ako ang gumawa noon. So, maraming salamat sa kanyang paggalang.
At hindi ako tumatalikod, hindi ako nang-iiwan sa mga talents, tama man o mali," Boy said at the launching of his CD last night, February 5 at ABS-CBN compound.
Boy also revealed that he and Rufa Mae continued to talk the past few days. He immediately dismissed suggestions that Rufa Mae should do a press conference to clear up the matter.
Sabi ko, ‘Peachy, hindi lahat ng totoo tama at hindi lahat ng totoo sinasabi,'" he said recalling their conversation.
Boy also clarified that he didn't have any idea that Rufa Mae would give a revealing story to YES! In hindsight, he would have made some reservations about giving the interview.
"You're never ready for that. Pero saka-sakali man mangyari, haharapin. Haharapin dahil nangyari, ginawa, at haharapin. Dapat hindi mo talikuran."
However, Boy is standing by Rufa Mae's side if other people would attack her for her revealing love journey.
Or kinakailangan magpakumbaba at sabihin pasensiya na, gagawin namin yun," the talent manager said.
