TV Ratings (Feb. 29-March 2): Regine Velasquez's return on "SOP" rules

Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez made an emotional speech on "SOP"last Sunday to signify her return to the show and her decision to stay in GMA-7.

Regine Velasquez's emotional comeback on SOP placed second among daytime programs Sunday, March 2. It posted a rating of 17.6 percent behind the rerun of the movie Say That You Love Me, starring Jennylyn Mercado and Mark Herras, which got 19.3 percent.

GMA-7's showbiz talk show Showbiz Central grabbed the third spot with 14.2 percent; followed by ASAP ‘08's 13.2 percent and The Buzz's 13.1 percent.

In the primetime race, Kap's Amazing Stories, hosted by Sen. Bong Revilla, was No. 1 with 25.4 percent. Four other Kapuso shows (Tok! Tok! Tok! Isang Milyon Pasok, Mel & Joey, All Star K, and Ful Haus) occupied the rest of the Top 5 while five ABS-CBN shows (Goin' Bulilit, Rated K, That's My Doc, Sharon, and TV Patrol World) took the bottom half.

Saturday's daytime viewing was once again ruled by Eat Bulaga! generating a rating of 23.8 percent. Ai-Ai delas Alas's Volta was at second place with 17.7 percent, closely followed by Wish Ko Lang with 17.6 percent.

Willie Revillame's noontime show, Wowowee, was at No. 4 with 16.5 percent as Pinoy Records took the fifth slot with 16.5 percent.

Bitoy's Funniest Videos once again occupied the top spot in the primetime race with 34.4 percent. It was followed by Imbestigador (30.5 percent), Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (30 percent), Kakasa Ka Ba Sa Grade 5? (27.6 percent), and 1 vs. 100 (22.2 percent) to complete the Top 5.

Eat Bulaga! was also the No. 1 daytime show last Friday, February 29, tallying a rating of 22.5 percent, with Daisy Siete breathing down its neck at No. 2 with 22.4 percent.

The last episode of the My Only Love, starring Mark Herras and Rhian Ramos, finished at No. 3 with 20.7 percent. Another GMA-7 Sine Novela, Maging Akin Ka Lamang was at No. 4 with 20.3 percent.

The Koreanovela Come Back Soon-Ae also had its final episode Friday getting a rating of 15.2 percent, to tie with Kris Aquino's Wheel of Fortune at No. 7.

Finally, Marimar remained strong with 44.3 percent rating to once again rule the primetime race.


Other GMA-7 shows (Kamandag, Joaquin Bordado, Coffee Prince, 24 Oras, and Bubble Gang) also made it in the Top 10.

The other slots were occupied by the following ABS-CBN shows: TV Patrol World, Kung Fu Kids, Lobo, and Palos.
