On May 11, young superstar Judy Ann Santos will be celebrating her 30th birthday. And unlike those who are afraid to get older, Judy Ann looks forward to events in her life.
Juday, prominent nickname of Judy Ann, told the entertainment media, at a press conference held recently, that she is in fact eager to have more responsibilities.
"Excited ako sa fact na thirty na ako," she quipped. "Kumbaga, excited ako doon sa dadagdag pang responsibilities and obligations as a mother [to adopted daughter Yohan] and a daughter, as girlfriend, as an artist as well."
The drama actress also added that she already prepared some plans as she adds another year in her life. "Hinihintay kong mangyari yung maging thirty ako kasi ang dami ko nang planong gustong matupad."
What are these plans?
Juday pointed out one thing that's close to her heart—her passion for cooking. She said, "May mga bagay-bagay na akong gustong umpisahan. Actually, nag-uumpisa na akong mag-OJT [on the job training], nag-o-OJT ako ngayon sa Café Isabel para sa pagiging chef. Part kasi iyon ng curriculum namin.
"So, after ng course, mag-o-OJT kami ng 100 hours and then panibagong course ulit. So, kapag halimbawang late ang call sa set, nag-o-OJT muna ako ng five to six hours or kapag maaga akong natatapos sa trabaho, mag-o-OJT muna ako.
"So, ganun yun, para matapos din ako. Kumbaga, ganoon ako kapursigido sa culinary [course] talaga."
Later on, Juday stated, "Basta gusto kong mag-aral, ang dami kong gustong gawin. Ngayon ko lang na-realize na you're never too old to learn. You really have to learn something new every month, every year, every day."
Aside from finishing her culinary course, Juday is also saving up for a new house that she has long been wanting to have.
"I just want to live in a subdivision na mas secluded," said Judy Ann. "Hindi naman sa sinasabi kong hindi secluded yung area namin. Yung ano lang, yung mas malawak yung daan sa mga bata, kasi ang dami ko nang pamangkin. Yung mas medyo comfortable kapag doon sila natutulog. So, it's still for my family, not just for me."
QUE SERA, SERA. Almost every year, Judy Ann and boyfriend Ryan Agoncillo are always being reported planning to get married. So, when the media asked Juday again if she will walk down the aisle this year, the actress answered laughing, "Sabi nga, 2007, di ba? Taun-taon na lang."
She continued, "Sabi nga nila [noong] 2005, mabubuntis ako. Hintayin na lang natin, hintayin na lang natin kung mangyayari. Kumbaga, mangyayari naman yun."
Right now, Juday said that she and Ryan are comfortable with their situation as girlfriend-boyfriend.
With Yohan, Juday's adopted daughter, Judy Ann and Ryan feel that they are already a family. This also helps the couple to adjust whenever they decided to settle down.
She said, "Ngayon, every day we just try to have fun. We try to do things together with Yohan. Kumbaga, as a family ini-introduce namin yung sarili namin sa ganun—na tatlo tayo, ganito tayo—yung paisa-isa para hindi rin mabigla halimbawang dumating sa puntong gusto mo nang mag-settle down."
A CHARMED LIFE. Undeniably, Judy Ann has almost everything she would want in life—a successful showbiz career, a good family, and a blooming love life. What else does Judy Ann wish for on her birthday?
The actress frankly answered, "Siguro wala, e. Honestly, kasi sa pagiging masaya, sobra-sobra pa nga ako sa pagiging masaya. Sa blessings, sobra-sobrang blessings talaga na hindi ko nga ine-expect na tatagal ako, aabot ako ng twenty years sa showbiz kasi I was expecting sampu. Hindi ko akalain na aabot ako ng ganito katanda.
"Kumbaga, natutuwa ako na after so many years, I've come to realize na, yes, you don't have to please everybody, you just have to please yourself and you just have to trust kung ano yung ginagawa mo. Learn to trust God, learn to trust yourself."
