Three Kapampangan celebrities honored by their kababayans

A director, an actor-producer, and a singer are the recipients of the First Outstanding Kapampangan Entertainment Award.

Binigyan ng parangal ang legendary film and multi-awarded director na si Elwood Perez; ang award-winning movie actor, negosyante, at ngayon ay ganap nang film producer na si Allen Dizon; at ang Philippine Idol runner-up na si Jan Nieto. Sila ang unang batch na ginawaran ng Crissot statuette, given by the heirs of the Pampanga Poet Laureate, dramatist, and hero Juan Crisostomo Sotto last August 18 at SM Pampanga Cinema 6.

Si Direk Elwood ang kasabayan noon nina Joey Gosiengfiao at Emmanuel Borlaza, who defined the first decade of Regal Films. He won several directing awards for such movies as Pakawalan Mo Ako (FAMAS, 1988) and Ang Totoong Buhay ni Pacita M (MMFF, 1991).

Coming from a male beauty pageant, Allen rose from sexy roles until makapasok na rin sa mainstream and even won acting awards for his performance in Twilight Dancers. Allen is now a full-fledge producer with his ATD Entertainment; na pagkatapos ng Paupahan ay ginagawa na ang second movie na Paputok (Firecrackers).
