Sam Milby answers criticism against his appointment as DepEd's Youth Spokesperson and Role Model

"I think they shouldask DepEd and I hope they'll be able to get the reason why they chose me, andI'm sure they have different criteria. I'm here to support and I'll do anythingI can do just to help and encourage youth," says Sam Milby when asked about criticism by some sectors on his being DepEd's Youth Spokesperson and Role Model.

Sa pagkakapili kaySam Milby ng Department of Education (DepEd) bilang Youth Spokesperson and Role Model, sa6th National Leadership Training for Student GovernmentOfficers (NLTSGO) na ginanap sa Baguio City noong nakaraang linggo—may bumatikos agad sa Fil-Am singer-actor kaugnay ng nasabing karangalan at responsibilidad.

Balitang umalma ang Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT).

"I think they shouldask DepEd and I hope they'll be able to get the reason why they chose me, andI'm sure they have different criteria. I'm here to support and I'll do anythingI can do just to help and encourage youth," nakangiting pahayag ni Sam.

"Ako, I tried my best tospeak Filipio fluently and I can say, slowly, I'm learning the language. Aboutmy educational attainment, even though I'm not a college graduate, I do plan togo back to school. Kaya lang, I don't have time right now. I finished myfirst year college in Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, and I took upComputer Engineering."

Honestly, Sam admitted that he used to smoke, pero natigilna niya ito, and drugs are a no-no for him.

I usedto smoke before, dati nung PBB [Pinoy Big Brother] days but I quit smoking after that.

"I'm 'No' to drugs at all, I will never do that. ‘Pagkasi wala kang tulog, you will really look haggard, but ganyan talaga. That'spart of showbiz na you'll lack sleep because of work. Good thing hindi namasyado ngayon. Before kasi, I'm doing movies, ‘tapos I have teleseryes. Butngayon, mas okey na," pagtatapos ni Sam.
