Ruffa Gutierrez on lovelife: "Hindi na ako naghahanap..."

"My mom is always controversial. Buti sa States, tahimik na tahimik ang buhay niya. Ngayon na marami siyang anak, at mas maraming alaga, and maraming nag-a-apply, na sinasabi ko, 'Wag na siya tumanggap dahil napapabayaan niya kami, well, hindi...She likes helping people, so if she can help people, she will," says Ruffa Gutierrez about her mom Annabelle Rama (not in photo) during the latter's birthday party.

"I'm always very happy," was the simple statement of Ruffa Gutierrez when asked to describe her life right now. But she stressed that "lovelife" does not figure in her current state. Ruffa said no special someone is causing her happiness, though she admitted: "Maraming pumuporma, you know, may bata..."

When asked to elaborate about her "younger suitor," she replied casually, "Naku, yung bata, sobrang bata naman, as in 10 years! Naloloka naman ako, he's 25." This guy, according to Ruffa, is a "foreigner model" na "ayaw ni Mommy [Annabelle Rama]."

But finding love seems to be the last thing on her mind. The TV host-actress said, "I'm just taking my time," because she has yet to "settle everything in her past."

And she doesn't see the need to look for love. But if she will have her way with fate, she wants a "God-fearing" guy.

"Hindi na ako naghahanap," she told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) during the birthday party of her mom. "Whatever naman it is, hindi naman lagi natutuloy, eh. Ang importante, sana [he's] really God-fearing...At the end of the day, kung sino ang gusto ng Diyos na para sa 'kin, yun ang pinaka-importante."

DESPERADAS 2. The unica hija of the Gutierrezes announced that she has already started filming Desperadas 2. How did she feel when she learned that Eugene Domingo had been pulled out of the cast?

"Nalungkot talaga ako nung nawala si Uge, kasi after My Monster Mom, I was really looking forward to spending more time with her, especially
sa movie. Si Uge, naku talagang pagdating ko pa lang galing Istanbul last year, sinabi nila kasama mo sa Kokey si Eugene Domingo, akala ko lalaki! So, unang tanong ko, 'My god, guwapo ba yun?' Lahat sila nagtawanan sa 'kin.

"So ngayon, alam ko nang babaeng-babae si Uge. Pero wala, eh, pinalitan siya ni Ogie Alcasid. [It's] also nakaka-shock, but I'm really excited, kung pa'no niya bibigyan ng justice yung role."

KRIS BACK ON THE BUZZ. Another change in one of Ruffa's projects was the comeback of Kris Aquino in ABS-CBN's showbiz talk show, The Buzz. At the time of this interview, no official announcement was made yet, but Ruffa already extended her warm "welcome back" to Kris.

"I'm very happy. Actually, nag-guest ako sa Boy and Kris, talagang napakadaldal namin. Dami na ngang inedit out na portion. I'm thinking sa The Buzz on Sunday, 'pag siya ang kasama ko, there's never a dull moment. I don't think magpapatalbugan kami, kasi alam ko naman si Kris ang queen, prinsesa lang ako. And alam ko marami akong matututunan sa kanya, hosting-wise. And I think it's good for me and a challenge for me, [if] Kris is on the show."

But, when it comes to fashion and outfits, who is the queen? "Well, in fairness, maganda naman si Kris, pero that's my forte," the former beauty queen answered with a laugh.

Going back to the subject of hosting, Ruffa wants to take it seriously. If there's one aspect she wants to improve on, "Sana naman I also learn to be more outspoken. Minsan natatakot din ako mag-comment, especially if the issue is very controversial."
