Bea Alonzo considers 2008 as a lucky year for her, especially the last half, because she was chosen to portray the title role in ILove Betty La Fea.
"This is a lucky year for me. I'm so happy!" exclaimed Bea in an interview during the pressconference for her newest endorsement, Belo Essentials, last Friday, October30, at the Steak Town Restaurant on Sgt. Esguerra St., Quezon City.
She continued, "Sabi nga nila, ‘When it rains, itpours.' So thankful ako, sobrang thankful."
For her 21st birthday last October17, Bea said that her goal is to save her earnings. This was in connection withbuilding a rest house for her family.
She told the media, "Next year, sana before mag-end ang nextyear, 2009, makabili na kami ng rest house. So, 'yon na ang goal ko, so unti-unti na siyang natutupad. So, it's about time na pangarapko naman."
As a breadwinner, Bea said that she's really working hard tohelp her family and to give something to her mother before she decides tosettle down.
Bea further explained, "Kasi siyempre ako angbreadwinner. By the time na iiwan kosila, ano ang iiwan ko, di ba? So,everything that I'm doing now is for them, hindi talaga para sa sarili ko. Kasi feeling ko, 'yon ang mission ko inlife, e, to provide until I can provide."
Of course, while doing her responsibility for her family,Bea also makes sure that she treats herself once in a while for all the hardwork that she did.
"This year ang talagang goal ko is to save," reiteratedBea. "Kasi talagang ngayon lang akohindi bumibili ng damit for the show, so talagang puro ipon, nasa bangkolahat. Dati hindi ako nakakabili no'n kasi siyempreI'd rather spend on necessity ko, like 'yong clothes that I'm gonna use for theshootings and tapings."
Since she mentioned about buying a house for her family, does she also have a plan to buy one for herself?
Bea answered in jest, "Feeling ko naman hindi ko namankailangan bumili ng house for myself. Siyempre, 'yong husband ko na ang bibili no'n in the future, di ba?"
ENJOYING SINGLE LIFE. It has been a while since Bea had a relationship; the last timewas with her one year and half boyfriend Mico Palanca. Although she's currently linked to youngactor Jake Cuenca, Bea said that there's no romantic relationship betweenthem.
She even told the media that this time she's just focusingon work and her career. "Huwag munamag-lovelife, papayaman muna ako," Bea quipped. "Sabi nga nila, hindi talaga pinagsasabay, 'no?
Aside from flourishing career, Bea also thinks that being asingle gives her a chance to love herself and spend quality time with her lovedones.
Then, a reporter asked her, "Ang mga guys ba sagabal sa 'yoat sa career mo?"
"I don't know, siguro kasi mas nagpo-focus ka doon, e.
