Joyce Jimenez happily announced that she's on the first trimester of her pregnancy.
In an interview with Nelson Canlas of 24 Oras, the sexy actress said she did not have any idea that she was already carrying her first child until she arrived in the country last month from Los Angeles, California.
Joyce's Fil-American husband, Paul Eli Egbalic, whom she married last August 2008, was so excited upon hearing the good news that he asked his wife to return to L.A. this May.
The actress shares his sentiments. She said, "Ako naman din, di ba? I mean, it's my first child and I would want to be there to experience it, not just, you know, giving birth of my baby, but also naman the experience of just being pregnant. I mean, I'm not gonna take that away from me."
Since this is her first pregnancy, Joyce said that she's trying to avoid things that are not good for her baby, including going out on gimmicks.
"Okay naman pala akong mag-coffee, siyempre drinking, going out in some of the key places, pero hindi na ako masyadong lumalabas anymore. I miss them, I'm not gonna deny it. I miss it sometimes, but the sacrifice of why I can't is totally worth it," she said.
When her baby is born, Joyce says she is willing to give up her showbiz career to focus on her family.
"My priority now is obviously my husband and my baby," stressed Joyce. "So, if there ever comes a job na I'm going to have to sacrifice... There are things that I can't sacrifice naman for my family. I can't do it because I'm not just working for me anymore. I have to think about it, di ba? I can't be selfish and just keep on thinking about myself," she ended.
When PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) inquired about her pregnancy, through her manager Shirley Kuan, Joyce said that she's expected to give birth on the last week of October in the U.S.
She also shared that she broke the news to her husband by sending him a copy of the ultrasound through an email.
"My husband was very excited and can't wait for me to come home to take care of me. He's always wanted to have children and is actually
getting ahead of himself and looking for things to buy already for the
baby," Joyce told PEP.
Joyce was tagged as "Pantasya ng Bayan" during her heyday as a sex symbol. Some of the sexy films she starred in are the following: Scorpio Nights 2, Linlang, Biyaheng Langit, and Balahibong Pusa.
