Dennis Trillo does not intend to revive on-and-off affair with Cristine Reyes

When the star of the Cinemalaya entry Astig was asked to identify his weakness, Dennis Trillo replied candidly, "Siguro weakness ko, babae talaga, e.

For some time now, many people believed that Dennis Trillo and Cristine Reyes had broken up a long time ago. However, he shocked the press when he announced that the actual breakup took place only last May.

During the press conference of Astig held last yesterday, July 9, at La Carmela Café in Makati City, Dennis was asked why he misled some people about the status of his relationship with Cristine.

"Hindi naman, ayoko namang sabihing nagsinungaling. Hindi lang ako masyadong open talaga ever since."

He explained himself by saying, "Kasi, alam n'yo naman yung relasyon namin, nagsimula 'yan, medyo wrong timing talaga. And, on and off talaga yung relasyon."

Dennis pointed out that he simply did not want the public to know all the details about his relationship with FHM Philippines' Sexiest Woman this year.

Dahil on and off siya, siyempre gusto naman namin mag-work yung relationship na maging maayos kahit kumplikado sa sitwasyon namin. Kaya 'yon, nagkakataon, 'pag in-interview ako, wala talaga. Kasi minsan, off talaga kami."

When PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked if Dennis wants to get back together with Cristine, he stated that he has no such plan.

Has he really moved on after his breakup with Cristine?

"Naka-move on na ako," he replied.

According to Dennis, he no longer communicates with his ex-girlfriend.

Does Dennis consider himself astig when it comes to women?

The matinee idol hesitated a moment before answering, "Ako ba sasagot nun?

ARIEL THE ASTIG. Dennis will be starring in his first indie film, the Cinemalaya 2009 entry Astig, which will have its world premiere on July 18 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

So, ganoong way, nabubuhay ko yung sarili ko," described Dennis about the character he plays.

What made him accept this project?

"Yung content mismo nung material. First time kong gumawa ng indie, first time kong gagawa ng ganitong katapang na role. And bilang artista, marami kang frustrations, and nung nabasa ko yung script, sabi ko, 'Wow, eto siguro yung film na magdadala ng fulfillment para sa 'kin bilang isang artista.'"

How does Dennis define the term astig?

During the presscon, Boy Abunda praised Dennis profusely for his intense performance in the film Astig. Incidentally, Boy is one of the co-producers of the film. How does Dennis feel about being praised so much by the Kapamilya host?

It makes me feel sobrang proud sa mga ginawa naming pelikula. And sobrang thankful ko nga sa kanya kasi kami yung pinili niya, isinama niya kami sa proyekto niyang 'to."

An astig is supposed to be tough. But is there anything that Dennis can call his weakness?

He admitted candidly, "Siguro weakness ko, babae talaga, e.
