Sharon Cuneta is very grateful to Mother Lily Monteverde for giving her a chance to work with Regal Films. The Megastar will be the lead actress in Mano Po 6: My Mother, the production company's entry to this year's Metro Manila Film Festival.
According to the award-winning actress, who met the entertainment press last Monday, July 20, in the induction ceremony of the Movie Writer's and Press Photographers Association of the Philippines (MOWPPAP), it was only a coincidence that she had a free schedule to shoot a movie, so she immediately approved Mother Lily's long-standing offer.
"Nagkataon na everything fell into place, nagkaroon ng opening ang schedule ng lahat, nagkaroon ng project si Mother Lily. Si Mother has always been very, very supportive and standing offer niya ito ng ilang taon na, e, sa akin... She's really been nothing less than a mother to us," Sharon explained.
The Megastar added that she's really excited to work with veteran director Joel Lamangan again.
"And hindi lang naman yun yung reason kung ba't gagawin ko, it's because the project is good and I'm going to be directed again by my other nanay, Joel Lamangan. So, I'm very excited," Sharon said.

According to the Megastar, she never intended any harm because she just answered a question from the press.
"Sayang lang, pero ako naman natanong lang. Sabi ko kasi, common knowledge naman na gusto ko siya," she explained, referring to Angel.
Sharon added that although she regrets not being able to work with the young actress anymore, she believes that whoever Mother Lily will pick to play her daughter will be as capable.
"I'm sure whoever naman ang mapili nila Mother, hindi naman sila kukuha [ng artista] na hindi naman nila mabibigyan ng justice yung role nila," the Megastar concluded.
