Sexy Ina Raymundo makes her return to television through ABS-CBN's Precious Heart Romances' upcoming offering, Midnight Phantom. The series-topbilled by Denise Laurel and Rafael Rosell-is the screen adaptation of the highly popular local romance novel authored by Martha Cecilia.
PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) was able to talk to Ina yesterday, July 24, after the story conference staged in one of the rooms inside the Pinoy Dream Academy (PDA) house in Quezon City.
The acting bug, according to Ina, caught up with her too many times in the past that it became virtually impossible to ignore: "Minsan talaga hinahanap ng katawan mo. Minsan nakikita mo na lang 'yong sarili mo na umaarte ka na pala pero walang camera."
Ina's Canadian husband, Bryan Poturnak, fully supports her decision to resume her stalled career on the condition that she won't neglect her duties as a wife and mother.
"Supportive naman siya kasi alam niya na good for one month lang 'tong show and 'yong taping namin is one month din. So alam niya na hindi 'yong katulad nung dati na lahat walang sagot, kung kelan matatapos... Siyempre ida-juggle ko 'yong motherhood tsaka 'yong showbiz career pero that's fine with him kasi one month lang 'yon, e."
Having a blissful family life has likewise afforded Ina the luxury to meticulously pick her spots in the industry-a welcome development for someone who used to work feverishly and for an actress who eventually got tired of banking on her sexy image.
"I'm so blessed na 'yong kung anong gusto ko mapipili ko," said Ina, whose last television assignment was the fantasy series Rounin shown in 2007.
"Kumbaga kung ano 'yong talagang timing, kung ano 'yong perfect for me, 'yon lang 'yong gagawin ko, which is good kasi walang pressure masyado."
Playing mother roles doesn't affect Ina either despite the seeming injustice of portraying such given her still sexy figure.
"Alam mo, matagal na 'kong nagma-mother role," she revealed matter of factly. "Nag-take na ko ng mga mother roles dalaga pa lang ako. Matagal na kong nagma-mother role kaya nga Ina ang name ko," she joked in closing.
