Annabelle Rama and Wilma Galvante ordered to attend mediation hearings

For Annabelle Rama (right) and Wilma Galvante (left), the future is looking bright as meetings for mediation between the talent manager and the GMA-7 vice president respectively, get underway. But the two camps admit that, at this point, that there is no room for settlement.

Last Friday, July 24, talent manager and celebrity mother Annabelle Rama and GMA-7 Senior Vice-President for Entertainment TV Wilma Galvante attended their third hearing in relation to the case filed by the latter. In a segment shown by Startalk today, July 25, Rama and Galvante were seen arriving within minutes of each other at the Regional Trial Court's branch 226 in Quezon City where they will undergo a process of mediation.

Wilma's lawyer, Atty. Freddie Villamor, shared, "Yesterday we were able to accomplish one stage of the pre-trial and that is the referral of the case to mediation. So, magkakaroon ng mediation sa August 26, 2009 para to thresh out the possibility of settlement. Kung hindi pa magkaka-areglo ire-refer sa mediator yung kaso sa korte for the pre-trial process."

"Ang mediation kasi is a requirement," added Atty. Agnes Manahan, Annabelle's lawyer. "It is under the rules ng korte ngayon, so tutuloy kami para i-set ang date ng mediation as required by the board."

Wilma herself commented that it was indeed required to have this mediation process as it is proper procedure. Annabelle, however was feeling little bit more generous when asked to comment on the matter.

"Sabi pa naman ni judge hindi ako puwede mag-comment," she said. "Sabi ko mag-comment ako sa totoo lang. Mag-mediation kami doon sa basement para kung magkabati o hindi... kung hindi kami magkabati, tuloy ang kaso namin after thirty days."

With these words, she commenced to share her thoughts regarding the news about people in the showbiz industry expressing support for Wilma. She said, "Sabi ko lang sa judge, ako sumugod ako mag-isa... wala akong mga talents, wala lahat. Kaya kong mag-isa sa laban na ito. Kaya ko mag-isa. Kaya ko lahat 'yan, lalabanan ko lahat 'yan."

For Atty. Villamor, it was not just about who has more people on their side.

Wilma herself was surprised when she saw some of her "supporters." "Hindi ko naman alam na darating kayo dito," she said. Then with a smile, she added, "Hindi naman ako ang pinupuntahan niyo, siya di ba?" referring to her co-litigant.

When informed about Annabelle's continued remarks about her, Wilma simply concluded that it was all irrelevant and what was important was the case itself and that is the thing she would focus on. "Ito ang hinaharap namin ngayon," she said. "Kung ano man ang nasa paligid, e, insignificant 'yan."

Annabelle's parting shot was: "Wala na akong masasabi, basta gusto ko lang maituloy ang kasong ito dahil... siya nag-umpisa. Ako nananahimik, siya inumpisa itong gulo na ito. Hindi ako aatras!"
