18-year-old Ynna Asistio is now ready to accept suitors

"Kahit sobrang tagal na ni Mark [Herras], 'yon nga masyado naming ine-enjoy ang friendship namin kaya siguro hindi rin nawawala [ang closeness]," explained Ynna Asistio when asked about Mark Herras, who has been rumored to be her long-time suitor.

While patiently waiting for her debut party to start, Ynna Asistio was accompanied by her sisters and close friends. Also with her at the lobby of the Tektite Auditorium in Ortigas Center last Friday, September 25, was her rumored long-time suitor Mark Herras.

Ynna is aware that her mother, former actress Nadia Montenegro, wants her to reach the age of 18 before accepting suitors or be involved in a romantic relationship. This is the reason why she couldn't give a specific answer when asked by PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) if there is now a chance for the StarStruck alumnus to be her first boyfriend.

"Sa amin kasi, sa aming magkakapatid, hindi naman kami nagra-rush," Ynna said. "Sa aming magkakapatid po kasi, 'yon nga po ang usapan namin ni Mommy. Pero kay Daddy [former Caloocan City mayor Boy Asistio] po kasi, hindi namin alam if puwede. Pero hindi naman porke 18, puwede na, ganyan."

For almost three years, Mark was able to establish a close relationship, not only with Ynna but also with her family. The young actress pointed out that this is the result of her friendship with the young actor.

"Alam mo, kahit sobrang tagal na ni Mark, 'yon nga, masyado naming ine-enjoy ang friendship namin, kaya siguro hindi rin nawawala," she said.

However, Ynna couldn't give a final word with regard to having a relationship with Mark. "Hindi natin alam kasi okay kami pareho, okay with family. So, I think, wala namang... Tingnan na lang natin kasi, di ba, hindi nga porke 18, puwede na kaming dalawa," she explained.

Hours before the party, Mark surprised Ynna with a MacBook Pro. Ynna excitedly narrated to PEP how Mark presented his gift to her.

"Kanina ibinigay niya, pumunta siya sa bahay. Parang may tinatago siya. Tapos lumabas ako, sabi ko, 'Hi!' Sabay sabi niya, 'Happy birthday!' Pumasok ako, paglabas ko, bigla niyang inabot sa akin. Talagang nanghina ako. Hindi ako maka-get over na parang binuksan ko pa, totoo nga! Ngayon, hindi na ako mag-iipon!" she said.

NADIA'S APPROVAL. Mark is so close to Ynna's mom that he actually sought her advice on what gift he would give to the debutante.

In a separate interview with Nadia, she said: "Sabi niya [Mark], ''Nay, hindi ako makapag-decide. Hindi ko alam kung ano ang ibibigay ko kay Ynna.' Sabi ko, '''Nak, bakit ako ang tinatanong mo? Siyempre, ako ang nanay, di ba? Ang pangit naman kung sa akin manggaling.' Noong tinanong ni Mark, sabi ko, 'You know, if you really want to make her happy, she would want to have a laptop. Pero hindi ko naman sinabing MacBook!'"

Nadia said she knew about Mark's intention since Ynna turned 16. However, she admitted that she asked him to wait until Ynna turns 18.

"Noong kinausap ko naman si Mark, talagang he was very honest naman with me. Pero I told him, 'Mark, I'm sorry. But if you really want to wait, you have to wait till she turned 18, then you can court her. By then, she understands already everything.' Kasi, kumbaga, ayaw ko siyang pagmadaliin."

With his three years of constantly visiting their house and caring for her daughter, Nadia has seen how persistent Mark is to win Ynna's heart.

"Ikaw ba naman, tatlong taon ka ba naman magtiyaga at bumakod at talagang nandodoon ka? I do trust him, I really do. At the same time, hindi ko rin naman nakakalimutang ipaalala, 'Alam mo na, ha?' Kakausapin ko pa yung dalawa," the debutante's mom said.
