Gerald Anderson to play offbeat role in his upcoming TV drama

"Sana tuluy-tuloy pa ang mga projects. Blessings and good health para sa pamilya ko, sana tuluy-tuloy lang," Gerald Anderson wishes for his 21st birthday on March 7.

Gerald Anderson was pleasantly surprised when he got a birthday cake after the press conference of his newest endorsement, Dermablend, yesterday, February 27, at Mario's Restaurant on Tomas Morato, Quezon City.

The former Pinoy Big Brother teen housemate will be celebrating his 21st birthday on March 7. However, unlike other celebrities, Gerald doesn't want it to be grand.

But he does want it to be meaningful. Part of his birthday celebration will be to visit the Cancer Warrior Foundation, which has already become a tradition with him since he came out of Big Brother's house in 2006.

The young actor related, "Kasi, noong nasa PBB kami, pumasok sila sa bahay. Ito 'yong way of giving back ko sa kanila. Para mas maging masaya sila at hindi nila iisipin may sakit sila."

OFFBEAT ROLE. Gerald mentioned that on his birth month he would be starring in a TV drama, but he couldn't reveal the details yet.

Later, he hinted that his role would give him a chance to show audiences that at 21, he's all grown up. It would show a different side of him as an actor.

It's an offbeat role. Sobrang maganda. Basta, ang masasabi ko lang, sobrang kakaiba talaga," he said.

SUCCESSFUL MOVIE WITH KIM CHIU. Last month, Gerald and his constant onscreen partner Kim Chiu successfully entertained their followers with Star Cinema's pre-Valentine movie Paano Na Kaya.

Many noticed that the two have improved a lot as actors. Gerald was very thankful to Kimerald fans and supporters of the movie.

Siyempre, nakaka-inspire lalo dahil 'yong pagod namin nag-pay off."

In the movie, Gerald has a scene where he is wearing only boxer shorts, which drew a lot of screams from the female audience. Will he repeat this in his next project?
