"I really think that their video deserves to win an award. Not just the video but their song also. I'm really proud and nagulat lang ako because hindi ko alam na mag-a-accept ako in his behalf."
"I also talk about him that way," sabi ni Pia. "Well, forever, I guess. Once na makilala mo yung tao that long, it's like that he exists every day. You still feel, I still feel that he's just here."
PAINFUL MEMORIES.
"No, wala naman. It's just that, I really... even si Frans, we really have to feel our creativity, our creative flow whenever we release an album. So, hindi talaga siya dahil may deadline. We don't work that way, e.
"So, I hope, maintindihan din ng mga nagtatanong. I just didn't really feel... I need to submit also pictures and every time I look at the pictures, that's the time that I feel sad because it's all the pictures in my i-Photo. From when he's just our normal every day, and then going towards the hospital. Naawa 'ko lang kasi when you see all those things na nakaturok to him, masakit talaga yun, so, naaalala ko yung times namin in the hospital.
"And I just don't feel like it and if they would just respect it. Nothing legal naman, nothing binding. We just really work that way, making his product. Ngayon, meron nga akong kasama, si Ely nga, na collaboration dito. Since Francis is not here, I represent him.
"So, whatever I say, that's Francis also because we've been together for almost 25 years, so I totally know what he wants, di ba?"
Dugtong pa niya, "I just wanna give Francis what he really wants and what he's always... As a manager, I always explained that the manager works for the artist."
GHOSTLY PRESENCE.
"Hindi lang sa akin, it just that I was interviewed about it.
"There was this one time, sa MTV, parang kinuha ako para mag-audition before. Tapos when it was my turn na, saka sumabog yung klieg light sa 'taas, so pinalitan nila. Noong turn ko ulit, sumabog ulit siya. So, hindi ko alam kung ano ang sinasabi niya. Feeling namin baka ayaw... and it was the only time na it happened daw."
Ipinakita naman sa Startalk ang isang picture na kuha sa puntod ni Francis last Friday, around 9:30 p.m., noong dumalaw ang pamilya pagkatapos mag-recording for Eat Bulaga!
Kuwento ni Pia, "Those pictures we're taken by one of the girls na kasama ng partner ko sa FMCC, our shirt company. Upper corner sa left, there's a dark figure, we could say short and even yellow, the face is there."
Anong hitsura niya, masaya ba, malungkot?
"Well, he looks asleep actually. My thing is, I'm not afraid of anything. It's like when me and Francis would talk, I would tell him before, 'Hey, if you'll go, you make pakita pa rin to me, ha? Kasi I want you to still be around.' And Francis will say, 'Won't you be scared? You're so cute naman.' 'If you're pangit, don't na make pakita to me.' So when I see him like that, I'm glad that I can still see him."
TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS.
"It's like before, si Francis kasi, super serious, he worries a lot. That's why he get sick easily rin because he worries too much.
"But actually, he's so extreme. He worries a lot about our life with our children, how we're gonna bring them up. And when I wanna buy something, he's just like, 'Go, buy it, it's just money.' So, when I think of that, it's like a go signal for me. And for me, you have to decide which is really your need compared to your wants. So, as long as we need it, I just go and I feel that it's for us naman, yung ginawa ni Francis. So, yung investment niya which is the biggest thing is the shirt company, of course.
"He really put it up in 2004 so that he would be able to retire though his passion is music as well. He puts it up, napamahal na sa kanya yung shirt that it worked together with his music as well. I'm glad na ginawa niya yun dahil kung ako lang, hindi ko naman maiisip yun.
"Maano siya sa family na dapat naka-set kami... I just continue it nga by the way I am. I'm not mahilig to any bisyo, I have no luho or anything. So, I'm just really careful about it."
RAISING THEIR KIDS ALONE.
"Ever since they are young, madali na silang kausap talaga. I just tell them straight what the consequences will be and it's really up to them to choose. So, they decide for themselves actually."
"I wanna say, I'm really proud because they make their father proud. They make the Philippines proud actually. Tularan niyo sila, out there. Tularan niyo ang kids ko. They enjoy pero, I think, they are very well ano naman, positioned.
"When they make mistake, they admit, so, that's it."
Lahat nagagawa niya and she does it in a way na hindi kailangan alam mo yung hapit. She does it in her own way, yung patient siya. Meron siyang salitang way. She just goes with the flow. Nagagawa niya lahat."
CELEBRATING HIS MUSIC. Paano nila inaalala ang first death anniversary ni Francis?
Ayon kay Pia, "Tonight, we'll have a mass at Eastwood Chapel. After that, Club Dredd wherein we will have all our close friends perform. Everybody will jam, so it's like a party. Francis is more of a party person compared to me. So, I'm giving it all for him. I hope he's gonna be there.
"To commemorate also, I have a radio show, on Sunday 8-11 a.m. sa 92.3 [FM]. So, I'll gonna dedicate the entire three hours for Francis's music. A lot of his wasn't played talaga because they thought that our radio station and our label are too different, too beat daw for the radio which I totally disagree with because it's too melodic. If you listen to the music, it talks about the culture, not just his anger to the government but also our culture."
