Ruffa Gutierrez has no regrets signing up with TV5

"I think, you know, this is gonna be the force to reckon with. In terms of being able to compete, I have high hopes that TV5 can compete with the two networks. As long as it's a healthy competition, wala namang masama," says TV5 "Kapatid" Ruffa Gutierrez.

"I'm very happy. I really saw how hard the production works for this event. I mean, the foods, the drinks, the giveaways—they are giving a new car—the stage, the presentation... I must really congratulate the people behind TV5 for coming out and spearheading this huge event," sabi ni Ruffa nang makausap siya ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) sa backstage ng WTC.

After seeing the turnout of the trade launch, masasabi ba niyang wala siyang dapat pagsisihan sa pagpili niyang maging "Kapatid"—ang bagong brand ID ng TV5?

"Every time I make a decision, palagi kong pinaninindigan at wala talagang pagsisisi. You can make mistakes in the past but with this, it was never a mistake. It was actually an honor that they were very nice to me. They gave me an amazing offer na hindi ko ma-refuse. So, happy ako to be part of the TV5 family."

SHOWS ON TV5.

"It's actually before The Buzz at 2:30 p.m. So, after P.O.5 [new variety show], kami na agad. The Buzz is at 4 p.m."

Dagdag pa ni Ruffa, "I'm also non-exclusive. While I'm promoting Working Girls 2010, I'll be guesting at GMA-7 shows."

"E, kasi, I've been in the business since I was 13 and I remember back then, kahit saan puwede kaming mag-guest. You know, I was a mainstay of That's Entertainment and GMA Supershow [sa GMA-7], they will also guest me in Young Love, Sweet Love for RPN-9. So, nakakaikot lahat kapag nagpo-promote ng film.

"You know, it's nicer that the more networks, the more programs. I think it's better for the whole industry, and the people benefiting this would be the viewers anyway because it will focus on healthy competition. We're really gonna try our best and strive for excellence.

Sa palagay ba niya ay kaya na ng TV5 to compete against the two giant networks, ABS-CBN and GMA-7?

"I think, you know, this is gonna be the force to reckon with. In terms of being able to compete, I have high hopes that TV5 can compete with the two networks. As long as it's a healthy competition, wala namang masama.

"But I also believe in MVP's [Manny V. Pangilinan, TV5 chairman] golden touch.

"Si Tito Boy [Abunda], well, I filled up his questionnaire and lumabas na sa Philippine Star and I thanked him for the nice article.

But for me, tapos na yun. I'm already here in TV5. So, let's leave that behind."

Paano kung accidentally ay magkita sila?

"Siguro, whatever happens. For me naman, it's not something that you know, you really have to think about. Siyempre, maliit lang naman ang industriya. Siyempre, magkikita kami. Magbabatian kami. Wala namang magiging problema," sabi ni Ruffa.

FOR PRESIDENT. May impression noon na she's pro-Noynoy Aquino. The same pa rin ba ang choice niya ngayon?

"Well, as of now, I'm not sure who I'm gonna be supporting. Everyone can always change their mind until the May election.

"Lahat kaming pamilya, iba-iba. My dad's for Erap. My mom is for Gibo. Raymond is for Villar. My kids are for Villar. Si Chard, hindi pa niya nasasabi. Hindi pa siya nakakapag-decide.

"I think for me, I'm gonna really watch the debate and carefully decide and think whom I'm gonna vote for. Kasi for me, it's important, e.
