"This is my first trip to Phillippines. I've been willing to come but I never have a good excuse," biro ni Jon.
Aniya, "It smells really nice. Very sweet."
TEKKEN THE MOVIE.
"Tekken is about Jin Kazama. His mother is killed by the big corporation and he goes out for revenge. And he has to fight all the fighters from different countries. It's like the most dangerous tournament in the world."
Ibinahagi niya ang kanyang most memorable scene sa pelikula.
"I really like the fight scene between Jin Kazama and Brian Fury played by Gary Daniels. That's one gotta lot of soul to it."
"Actually, I flew to Thailand to do a screen test. I also flew to America to do a screen test. Luckily, they liked me and they decided to put me as lead role."
"This is the first time I play lead role in the movies. So, there's a lot more pressure."
How does it feel being an international star?
"It's good and it has opened a lot more doors. Right now I'm working on a movie in Thailand and finish shooting in a couple of months. After that, probably I'll go back to L.A. and see what's available. So, it's a good opportunity."
WHO IS JON FOO? Mahilig daw siyang mag-travel around the world.
I'll have a successful career. Hopefully, there'll be more to come."
How many movies has he done so far?
"I've done a few but usually I'm just a small role. I've done some action, a fight scene or two. In Tekken, basically I'm doing the whole thing from start to finish. Yeah, I've done quite a bit of roles."
Has he been always fascinated with acting?
"Yes, I have actually. But I've always been fascinated by art and creativity. And then I just needed to find which way I wanted to go. And through acting and martial arts, looks like a good niche for me."
"It's not about following the pack. I just want to keep creative and keep positive. And keep everything fresh and new. I wanna bring... I think all the generations of martial arts stars painted a certain picture and I wanna make it more new and bring it to date."
MARTIAL ARTIST IN REAL LIFE. Sa mga hindi nakakaalam, martial artist in real life si Jon.
"I started with wushu and then after afterwards I get some taekwondo and some muay thai. And then just mix and match and see what works. Whatever's best with your body type, you just have to elaborate."
Who does he idolize among the martial arts stars in the movies?
"Well, always Jackie Chan. But most recently, Donnie Yen has been doing some really good stuff."
How about Bruce Lee?
"Well, Bruce Lee was dead before I was alive. But I've seen some of his movies and he's a great performer."
NEXT MOVIE.
"It's called Rebirth. It's a French movie being shot in Thailand. It's an action movie and hopefully it will pull off."
"Oh yeah, we have to stay inside the house and we don't go out. There are bombs going off. We just stayed inside and put some DVDs on. But now it's fine now. It has calmed down."
KNOWING THE PHILIPPINES. What does he know about the Philippines?
"I don't know much about the Philippines. I know there's a lot of good breakdancers here because I'm into all sorts of sports. There's like a massive amount of talent coming from the Philippines. Other than that, I know you have little eggs with a chicken inside that haven't been born yet."
"Yeah, balut, I've noticed that. And there's beaches and sun," dagdag pa niya.
Is he familiar with Manny Pacquiao?
"Oh yeah, Manny Pacquiao, why didn't I say that?"
Directed by Dwight H. Little (Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers), Tekken is locally distributed by Pioneer Films.
