Pokwang feels sad about Kris leaving PWW but welcomes incoming male hosts

"Ibig sabihin kapag naiiwan, itutuloy mo lang," said Pilipinas Win na Win host Pokwang on how she feels about always being left behind by her co-hosts.

"Kung puwede nga lang, huwag nang mag-Friday."

This was the wish of TV host-comedienne Pokwang when the media asked about her Pilipinas Win na Win! co-host Kris Aquino, who will be leaving the show on Friday, October 1.

Pokwang wept while she was relating how she got close to Kris during the short period they worked together in ABS-CBN's noontime show. Pilipinas Win na Win! replaced ABS-CBN's former variety show Wowowee on July 30.

"Mami-miss ko siya," said Pokwang during the press conference for her upcoming concert series titled Endangered Species. The presscon took place at Little Asia Restaurant in Tomas Morato, Quezon City yesterday, September 29.

She knows that the friendship she had with Kris on PWW will not end even though Kris will no longer be part of the show.

In Kris's posts on microblogging site Twitter last Tuesday, September 28, she informed her followers, "Friday is my last day on Win na Win. It was a good work & learning experience for me, but it's time to go...

"May I just clarify—I didn't resign or quit. I was asked to leave Win to make room for new male hosts. I'm honest and humble enough to not lie about the situation."

PEP wrote on its Twitter account named "scoopbox" that Kris would be hosting the new season of Kapamilya Deal or No Deal, which was the game show she hosted from 2006 to 2009.

NEW CO-HOSTS. On the same day, September 28, ABS-CBN announced that four new male hosts will join Pokwang and Valerie Concepcion on PWW—the Hitmakers namely Rico J. Puno, Rey Valera, Marco Sison, and Nonoy Zuniga.

The PWW host gladly welcomed the new addition to their family.

Pokwang admitted that the changes on their show also meant another start of building a relationship with her new co-hosts. But she assured them, she would do her best to create rapport.

"May darating naman pong mga bago. So, ayun, panibagong paghahanda, panibagong pagsisikap," said Pokwang.

Does she feel any pressure since she will be joined by popular local celebrities on PWW?

LEFT BEHIND. Pokwang does not mind being always left behind on the show. When controversial host Willie Revillame left Wowowee, her three female co-hosts—Mariel Rodriguez, Valerie Concepcion, and Pokwang—remained on the show.

When the five-year-old program was axed and replaced by PWW, Pokwang was still chosen as one of its hosts along with Mariel, Valerie, Robin Padilla, and Kris. Shortly after it premiered, celebrity couple Mariel and Robin left. Then they were followed by Kris. Pokwang and Valerie were left behind again.

Instead of wallowing in sadness, Pokwang takes this series of events positively.

"Natutuwa naman ako kasi tuloy ang show," the comedienne said.

She also clarified, "Hindi naman ako nagtatampo dahil lagi akong naiiwan. Kapag may naiiwan, may darating na bagong [hosts]. So, iwe-welcome ko na lang sila ng bonggang-bongga."

"HUWAG NAMAN HUSGAHAN." Aside from welcoming the new hosts, Pokwang also pleaded with the public not to easily judge their show especially when it comes to ratings game. Based on the recent results from AGB Nielsen and Kantar Media-TNS, ABS-CBN's Pilipinas Win na Win!'s rating has been relatively lower than other shows during the noontime slot. She said the whole team of Pilipinas Win na Win! tries not to get affected by the ratings. The group just focuses on giving their best to entertain viewers.

In the end, she said, "Hindi namin pinag-uusapan ang ratings.
