Christmas Forum: Yuletide plans and new year's resolutions of Heart, Bianca, Frencheska, Albert, and Kyla

Stars take time out from hectic lives to observe Christmas with families and loved ones.

HEART EVANGELISTA. Kapuso actress Heart Evangelista found love this year in the arms of Brazilian-Japanese model turned actor Daniel Matsunaga.

When PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other reporters caught up with Heart earlier this month at Caffe Ti-amo at Greenbelt 5 in Makati City, the Dwarfina lead star was still brimming with joy from her latest trip with her boyfriend to an island resort in Marinduque.

The couple's out-of-town rendezvous was in order to attend the wedding of Daniel's sister Vanessa.

"They're very, very nice," said Heart about Daniel's immediate family. "Sobrang bait nila, and it's so refreshing, and the wedding was really nice."

Heart, at the time of the interview, was still uncertain about how she and Daniel will spend their first Christmas as a couple.

"Kasi I also have to spent time with my family. Siya din, first time nila magsasama ng Christmas after a long time ng family niya," she confided.

Heart said she is fond of making New Year's resolutions but does not set unrealistic goals.

"I don't like pressuring myself. So, usually, in the middle of the year I come up with it, like, right now I exercise, I don't have any habits, no drinking, no smoking, nothing like that—clean living."

The year 2010, according to Heart, was a "rollercoaster" year, owing to a lot of things that happened in her career and personal life.

Prior to Dwarfina, which will be shown on GMA-7 next year, Heart was seen in the primetime series Langit Sa Piling Mo opposite Mark Herras.

But she also got embroiled in a controversy after she did not renew her contract with manager Annabelle Rama, who took the news badly and lambasted her before the media.

"My year, rollercoaster ride, but it ended well," smiled Heart.

"It's ending well and starting well and it will maintain and it will hopefully be that way forever. There'll be a lot of changes for 2011, but all good changes. There are lessons learned in time—no regrets."

BIANCA KING. Actress and part-time director Bianca King is excited about the launching of singer Frencheska Farr's music video titled "Today I'll See The Sun" on December 26 at Party Pilipinas.

It was Bianca who directed the music video, which also stars actor Richard Gutierrez as Frencheska's leading man.

With 2011 only a few days away, Bianca said she's looking forward to having a much better and productive year both as actress and director.

"I don't really make resolutions kasi feeling ko wala naman akong vices na kailangan itigil and wala din namang goals na kailangang i-set—kasi ang dami ko na masyadong goals!" said Bianca.

"I think I balance work and school okay, so I just want to continue working in showbiz and really save up a lot of money because I want to go to film school again.

"'Yon na lang talaga 'yong mindset ko kasi I was already able to buy a house, tsaka as of now, I have ten subjects. So I just want to finish that, get endorsements, save up money, and study again."

FRENCHESKA FARR. With her debut album titled Inside My Heart finally out in the market, Frencheska Farr's Christmas this year will be more meaningful and fulfilling.

"Last year masaya din naman po dahil kasama ko po 'yong family ko. Pero siyempre, nadagdagan po ng mas masaya dahil unti-unti na pong lumiliwanag 'yong daan ko sa career ko.

"Unti-unti ko na pong nakikita kung saan po ako pupunta, at nalalaman ko na din po sa sarili ko kung ano po talaga ang gusto ko sa career ko," said Frencheska, who will also be dabbling in acting next year.

The year 2011 is already shaping up to be a very busy one, and Frencheska is aware of it. That is why she's making a conscious effort to relish the yuletide break with her entire family.

"Baka sa bahay na lang po kami ng family ko. Magsasama po kami," confided Frencheska.

"Because nung for the past one year po yata na nasa showbiz ako, hindi ko na nakakasama ang family ko dahil sa schedule. So, lulubusin namin ang Pasko," she said.

ALBERT MARTINEZ. Making an epic film like Rosario required Albert Martinez to devote months of his time on the film set and inside the editing room.

Albert even had to turn down acting projects to allow him to focus on the film, which is based on the life story of businessman Manuel "Manny" Pangilinan's grandmother.

So this coming Christmas, Albert intends to make up for lost time with his wife and children.

"Five months akong nagtrabaho, five months akong nalayo sa pamilya ko, so siguro they deserve naman na magsama-sama kami this Christmas. It's going to be a quiet family Christmas," said Albert.

The seasoned actor turned director will also meet up with relatives, including younger brother William Martinez, for a "semi-family reunion" right after Christmas.

And if plans push through, Albert and the entire family will pay to watch Rosario in a moviehouse on December 25, together with the other cast members.

KYLA. Singer Kyla has enjoyed having two consecutive meals every Christmas Eve for the past five years.

It's a routine she shares with long-time boyfriend and Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) cager Rich Alvarez.

"Kasi ang nangyayari for the last few years, susunduin niya ako, tapos pupunta kami sa kanila, tapos kakain kami with his parents," beamed Kyla, who is currently promoting her latest album under PolyEast Records titled Private Affair.

She added, "Tapos ibabalik niya ako sa amin, tapos siya naman ang kakain sa amin, kasi malapit lang 'yong house nila sa amin."

Kyla admits having discussed with Rich the idea of settling down, although there's no concrete plan set in terms of date, month, and year.

"Kunwari magpaparinig ako, sasabihin ko, 'Ayoko naman na ga-graduate 'yong anak ko, tapos ganito na 'yong age ko,'" she mentioned shyly.

And Rich's reply, Kyla said with a laugh, was "Tatawa lang siya!"
