Gerald Anderson ready to fall in love again, but waiting for "right time, right girl"

When asked if he is ready to fall in love again, Gerald Anderson said: "Yes, I am single right now. Yes, I am ready [to fall in love]. But mas in love ako sa trabaho ko. So, dun muna ako magpo-focus."

Fans shrieked during the "kilig" scenes of Gerald Anderson and Sarah Geronimo during the red-carpet screening of Catch Me... I'm In Love held last night, March 22, at SM Megamall.

One of the scenes that sent fans screaming was the one shot in a muddy rice field. Gerald's character removes his shirt, revealing his abs on the big screen.

Did he feel awkward going topless?

Gerald smiled before answering, "Parang mahirap masanay sa ganun but for the role, naging okay naman."

What was his reaction to the crowd's warm response?

"Ang galing kasi first time namin magsama [ni Sarah] and we're really happy," he said.

What was it like to shoot a movie without his constant ka-loveteam, Kim Chiu?

"Yung first days of shooting, awkward, kasi iba ang ka-eksena ko. But everything worked out fine."

He compared Kim and Sarah as leading ladies. "Siyempre, iba ang performance nila [sa isa't isa]. Iba ang atake nila. They're both amazing at what they do and I'm very blessed na nakasama ko sila."

Did he invite Kim to the premiere night?

"Oo, pero may taping siya for Your Song. Sayang."

He added: "Kung makagawa siya ng movie with a different partner, excited rin ako para dun."

ON BEING COMPARED TO JOHN LLOYD CRUZ. In previous movies, Sarah had been paired with John Lloyd Cruz for A Very Special Love (2008) and You Changed My Life (2009). Both films earned for them the title Box-Office King and Queen for two consecutive years.

When Sarah was asked if she would reclaim the title of Box-Office Queen this year, she replied, "Hindi naman, hindi naman po. I'm just hoping po na ma-appreciate ng tao itong tandem namin, itong pelikula... yun lang. Hindi ako nag-e-expect na mag-box-office [hit] ito, pero hoping po."

Instead of feeling pressured, Gerald said he takes pride being compared to John Lloyd.

"Sobra akong honored na nilalagay nila ang Gerald Anderson sa isang sentence kasama si John Lloyd Cruz. Sobra akong natutuwa and I'm very honored."

Meanwhile, Gerald's weekly action series, Buhawi Jack, will air its last episode this Saturday, March 26. He will also be part of the Star Magic 18 U.S. tour.

"I'll be leaving next, next week. We'll be gone for three weeks. I'll be going to New York, Los Angeles, and San Jose," according to the lead actor of Catch Me... I'm In Love.

STATUS: SINGLE. When asked about his love life, Gerald said: "Wala akong love life. I'm happy sa professional at personal life. Masaya ako sa Buhawi Jack at sa trabaho."

Is it possible for him to fall for Sarah?

"Pumasok kami ni Sarah na focused sa work. Dun kami nag-focus at happy kami sa kinalabasan."

When PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked if he is ready to fall in love again, Gerald said: "Yes, I am single right now. Yes, I am ready [to fall in love], but mas in love ako sa trabaho ko. So, dun muna ako magpo-focus."

Has he met anyone special recently?

"Sa ngayon, wala pa. Hindi ako naghahanap... hinihintay ko lang kumbaga... right time, right girl."

When asked to enumerate qualities he is looking for in a girl, he said, "Simple, maganda, mabait at down-to-earth."
